he Berlin-based producer duo Kalte Liebe keeps drawing their inspiration from Post-Punk, Grunge, Dark Wave, EBM, and Techno.
Coming with years-long experiences in different musical projects ranging from beat-making over metal bands, and more they started back in 2019 using a drum machine, a bass synth, and a wasted microphone, only.

Authentically recorded in a 12 square meter room Kalte Liebe started out as an experiment combining diverse influences by the likes of DAF, Falco, Thomas P. Heckmann and more into their distinctively analog, raw, and bassline-driven style.

While their productions are mostly consisting of an elaborated mixture of EBM and old-school Dark Wave paired with technoid characteristics and captivating, roughly distorted vocals in German and English the duo equally stands for tool-ish and highly energetic Techno – modern, pounding, and dirty.

With recent releases on labels like 01010100 Records, Vitus Curse and BFT, even more strongly performing self-releases like „Ego EP“ and their recent work „Dopamin“ they are slowly establishing their name in the scene and quickly growing their audience. With loads of unreleased work and their Vocal Live Performance Kalte Liebe is soon to be heard all over.

Nicky Schelle's passion for techno ignited at the age of 12, driven by a fascination with artists like DVS1, Oscar Mulero, and Ben Klock. Over the years, he has immersed himself in the ever-evolving landscape of electronic music, exploring a wide spectrum, from minimal to dark techno, and from hard-hitting beats to hypnotic grooves.

While firmly rooted in the techno scene, Nicky Schelle's artistic vision extends beyond its boundaries. He draws inspiration from genres such as wave, post-punk, and indie rock, where melodic synthesizers add depth and texture to his sonic palette.

Nicky has spent six years perfecting his DJing skills, shaping his ability to curate soundscapes that transport audiences into uncharted realms. He has roamed the vibrant club scenes of Germany and Switzerland, absorbing the energy and spirit of these venues to infuse his own sonic identity.

His sound is best described as minimalist yet deeply engaging. It revolves around the hypnotic resonance of dull kicks paired with driving basslines. Each track and set he crafts aims to blur the lines between the self and the music, inviting listeners to experience the very essence of sound as a bridge to uncharted territories. Co:co is a Hamburg based Techno DJ. As a resident for Pure Venom she loves to heat up the dancefloor.
