Mikey V is a producer, DJ and vocalist from Los Angeles, California who has been a staple in the West Coast underground house scene since the early 2000's. While throwing LA's HAWT underground parties, Mikey signed his first 3 EP's to Luke Solomon & Derrick Carter's Classic Music Company in 2013. He has compiled a versatile discography of productions and vocal releases on labels such as Classic Music Company, Paradise, Robsoul, DFTD,  Snatch!, Hot Creations, Toolroom, Strictly Rhythm & Dirtybird.
Mikey has also collaborated with industry heavyweights such as Riva Starr, Oliver Dollar, DJ Sneak, Phil Weeks, Blakkat, Wheats, Brett Johnson & Nathan Barato.

Whether as an artist or a record label, attempting to stand out in today’s increasingly saturated electronic music scene is no easy feat, though some people seem to have the knack of making both look incredibly easy. Throughout recent years the British DJ, producer and label owner, Oli Furness has been earning global respect, securing international bookings from Japan to Ibiza and appearances at major festivals such as Glastonbury, as well as a cementing himself as a renowned resident at Manchester’s Sankeys. Furthermore his burgeoning reputation as a producer has seen him release the best part of 20 singles across the likes of NDV, Wax Classic, Morris/Audio and Tact Recordings. That's not even to mention his very own Music Is Love imprint, the success of which has been particularly fruitful, with the likes of Liam Geddes, Jamie Trench, Tuccillo, Mr KS and Jonny Cade all making appearances since its inception back in 2012. 

This year looks to be exceptionally propitious with the addition of his new sub-label, MIL, as well as a management company sharing the same name providing further testaments to Oli’s mounting reputation as one of the most auspicious and multifaceted young guns in modern day house music. Ahead of his appearance here in Farringdon on Saturday (7th March) where he’ll be playing alongside Terry Francis and Eddie Richards in the Demo hosted Room Three, we caught up with Oli Furness to hear about his goals for the year ahead of him.

Homero Espinosa Live At C&J's Afterglow 12.31.19

I'm going to say it now: this is *the* preeminent Hip-House mix! DJ Spinna produced this clean, thorough all-vinyl mix in Late 2003/Early 2004 for a short-lived but very cool Japanese boutique Tube Records that specialized in CD-only DJ-mixes. This was part of mix series Spinna did for the imprint, released on CDR in very limited batches now impossible to find both irl and online. Mine is boxed up in storage back East, same with Spinna's - but thankfully my old friend Mas Yamagata had it and ripped it including the artwork. The artwork was all done by hand by with pens/paints and layout by Forest Stearns, an old college buddy of mine who was a big part of the Humboldt art scene at the time. I can recall Spinna asking me if I knew any artists and Forest did a lot of live-art shows at hip-hop jams and from '04-'06 all in all we'd collaborate on 5 different mixes and covers called 'The Basement Archive Series'.  Mas sent me the files from the original CDR which sequenced the DJ mix individually track per tracks (27 in total). I really wanted it to play as one continuous mix for the podcast so the homie Monk One aka Andrew Mason then offered to turn it into one long track, which is how you'll be enjoying it. I had to dig deep to ressurrect it and I know it'll be worth your time! This is super high energy 1990, 91 NYC club tunes. Mixed incredibly well on all records owned by DJ Spinna. I even re-typed the track listing out for you:
