Beach Country  - part 2

This one goes back a ways for me. Neither One is a simple country tale about choices that don’t feel like choices at all, told the way life usually brings them, with a shrug and a sigh. Wild Heart picked it up and gave it that easy honky-tonk sway, letting the fiddle, pedal steel, and rhythm section carry the weight while the lyric keeps its dry grin. It’s a tune about knowing your own mind even when the world keeps offering you the wrong doors, and finding a kind of freedom in saying “no, not that, not today.”

Wild Heart just cut a new take of one of my early songs. Neither One is a country shrug, a wrong-turn story, and a little hard-won wisdom rolled into one.
