Music is what first took me to Burning Man. I’m forever grateful to my beloved friend Kai Peterson for introducing me to burner culture and the https://soundcloud.com/robot-heart/lee-burridge-robot-heart-burning-man-2013 set, which I’ve listened to nothing short of hundreds of times. 

When it came my time to go in 2019, I was bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and naive as a babe in the woods. As I stumbled my way through unsanitary porta potties, poorly mixed cocktails, and disgruntled women who were disappointed in their experience at The Oval Ascension, I started to realize that this was the place for me. 

Now that I’m not going for the first time in 6 years, it’s the music that’s keeping me connected to it. As I was recording and dancing to this set in my garage, I saw flashbacks of so many emotional and sacred moments on Playa. 

My first dust angel at the gate, my first emotional breakdown, my first sunrise. The first time I rode on an art car. The first time I saw the Temple burn. 

My first time taking off all my clothes in the deep playa.

Eating hot dogs for breakfast.

Traveling to another galaxy with 300 other people at Robert Starbuck’s breathwork. 

Coming out freshly bathed from the Human Carcass Wash only to get blasted by a dust storm 2 minutes later. 

Seeing that elusive red heart move across the dark horizon for the first time. 

The best fucking party of all time at Elementum Camp (https://soundcloud.com/elementumcamp) at the Renegade Burn.

Getting caught in tears of joy at sunrise with Tycho when a woman and her whole family, dressed in onesies (including little kids and grandparents), walked up to me and gifted me my first playa gift: a Tycho Committee 2014 patch.

If I could turn all of those moments into music and feed them to you, that’s what this 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 set would be. 

I hope it supports you as you pack, travel, and sit in the entry line for 8 hours ;)

Friends, one of my favorite things is playing music in the desert at Burning Man for sunrise.  This year I was offered that opportunity to play on Axolotl Art Car early Monday morning.  Going from night to day is always something to witness.  I brought my camera to capture some moments only to realize no batteries were there 😢😢.  I would not be able to capture these glorious moments so I have the pictures in my mind.  The car moved after sunrise and we rode off to a place where I couldn’t visualize our city of Burning Man and to a place where there was a small house where people were dancing inside, outside and on top of the house.  You don’t forget moments like these.  What a vibe it was that morning!  This is the set played during that morning sunrise.  I hope you enjoy!  Thanks Gor for being there and capturing the moments.  Fun seeing you out there!!

The latest offering from RKP finds label boss Ruben Karapetyan returning for a new single. Since returning to the world of electronic music in 2020, Armenia born, Los Angeles based artist Ruben Karapetyan has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence in the progressive house arena. With a sound that carefully balances a retro-modern style, Ruben has racked up a superlative string of releases for a host of revered imprints in Mango Alley, Clubsonica and The Soundgarden, in turn earning praise from the genre’s tastemakers. Seemingly in perpetual motion across 2024 while performing alongside Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Now as 2025 approaches its second quarter, Ruben returns to his RKP imprint for his first single of the year ‘Moai’, alongside remixes from Hernan Cattaneo & Mercurio, Maze 28 and MakhmuriaN.

Returning to the label for the second interpretation of ‘Moai’ is Maze 28. Hailing from Albania, Mario Zefi aka Maze 28 has become one of the most hotly tipped progressive house artists that the underground has to offer. In just three short years the Durres resident has earned support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while his melodic creations have found a home on Clubsonica, Juicebox Music and Mango Alley, the latter of which operates as his primary home. RKP has also been a landing spot for the talented Albanian, with October of 2023 marking his label debut with ‘This Is Just a Dream’. Remixed by Hernan Cattaneo and Marcelo Vasami, the track quickly rose to the number one position in both the label and artist’s Beatport sellers, where it still sits today. 2024 would see Maze 28 deliver his first original production for RKP, August’s timeless chart breaker ‘Red Lights From Afar’. Now, returning for his second remix, the Albanian talent puts his distinctive stamp on ‘Moai’. Bringing a contemporary state of mind, Maze 28 reassembles the themes from the original for his own uniquely tailored approach. Granular hits, haunting vocal motifs and a finale of balmy melodies co-ax perfectly atop muscular kick drums and key changing grooves, for what results in a tasteful rendition that’s perfect for the dancefloor.

What’s better to get there through lovely sexy vibes? 6 years ago I was still only playing in Holland and played often together with an MC (MC Haits) who also travels the world now spreading love through his vocals. He was the one who always came to me and literally kept repeating himself by the words: you play such f**cking Deep & Sexy tunes like Solomun. So a year later when I started my podcast series I already had the name of my podcast series. Next month I will bring you a more energetic/dancy/clubby version of what I do when I play in nightclubs so you also have a feel of what I do when the night is falling and the sun is down.
