Last month we flew the entire Team out to LA for our monthly show at the Echo. Almost everyone ended up crashing at my house and it turned into one giant jam session. One morning i woke up and started chopping up some samples and before I knew it, @mr_carmack was banging out some drums, @callmepapi layed down a few rhodes licks, and a banger was born!

  I originally made this beat back in 1997-98 when I was first experimenting with making more hiphop sounding beats instead of just drum-n-bass.  It was originally supposed to be a Freestyle Fellowship posse cut on the Megabite album that I was doing with PEACE at the time.  When that never materialized it got shelved for about 8 years until I was working on Ken Can Cook.   At the time Myka was vegetarian so I had him come over for some eggplant and potato curry.  I made these bomb stuffed mushrooms too.  Myka got super into it asking me for ingredient lists and written recipes while he was writing his verses.  Many blunts later we recorded this song that very same night.  If I remember correctly he came back a few day later and re-layed the second verse and added a few adlibs, but almost the whole song was conceived, written, and recorded that first night.  Although it took about 10 years from the time I made this beat to the time it actually came out, I think the wait was well worth it!
