First Night Shift.

The people by the great waters lived in happiness for many generations until their children began to disappear...

This is my own recording of storytelling at WIBC Radio in Indianapolis on Halloween 2008.  The Windego is based upon on a native american story told by Cherokee Storyteller Gail Ross by way of storyteller, Fran Stallings.

I did my field training as an Archeologist up in the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior in Wisconsin.  This story is set in such a place.  The tall trees whisper stories at night when the wind blows cold.

The Origin of Black Cats is an original "faux conte", inspired in 2019 by Mrs. Selhorn's 5th grade class at The Fortune Academy in Indianapolis.  I said I could create a story for them if they gave me three elements.  They gave me BLACK CAT, MARS, AND THE NUMBER 99. This is the story I made up for them on the spot.  It has become a favorite story to tell around Halloween as it is a non-scary story that shines a kinder light on Black Cats as loving pets.
