Barry Pearson, better known as Chapter & Verse, has had a whirlwind of a year since stepping out with "Dreams" via Mood Funk Records. Since then he's been an absolute maniac in the studio, spreading his ever-evolving tech house style to all who will listen. His talent has landed major nods from the industry elite including Roger Sanchez, Claude VonStroke, Green Velvet, and Gorgon City among others, while his tracks regularly break the top of the charts on Beatport.

But where did it all begin for this industry dreamer? Chapter & Verse breaks it down for us. "I’ve spent many years visiting clubs and festivals mainly in Leeds and Manchester, venues like Victoria Warehouse, Canal Mills, and Mint Warehouse to name a few," he said. "From there my love for modern-day tech house music came. Over the years I’ve spent significant time in Ibiza, and you can hear a lot of trance influences in my work, "Chemical" is a great example of this."

Exploring his passion for electronic dance music in all of these iconic locations has allowed Chapter & Verse to hone in on and develop his own ideas for the house genre, and now he's building a discography full of gems like "Terminator," a gritty peak hour mind-bender with explosive dance floor power. Of course, we can't fail to mention "Sinner" and its soulful classic vibe or the out-of-this-world celestial punch that spews out of "Satellite." And then there's "Cancel It," a trippy tune that nods to our current state of affairs. The moral of the story here is that Chapter & Verse has a track for each and every mood and occasion.

Die Schritte werden immer lauter. Begleitet von einem metallischen klappern – das kommt mir irgendwie bekannt vor. Ich blicke mich hektisch um. Wo in diesem Raum kann ich mich verstecken, um nicht entdeckt zu werden? Systematisch fange ich an die Situation zu analysieren, denn mir bleibt wenig Zeit. Jetzt bloß nicht in Panik verfallen, sage ich leise zu mir selbst. Meine Blicke schweifen durch den Raum. Die Einrichtung ist auf das nötigste reduziert, aber was habe ich auch erwartet von einem Technikraum. Die Vorstellung sich in einem Schrank zu verstecken wäre auch zu schön gewesen. Die vor mir stehenden Kessel und Maschinen geben mir wenig Deckung. Dort würde man mich mit Leichtigkeit entdecken. Mein Blick wandert weiter durch den Raum, in die Ecke mit der Serverfarm. Plötzlich kneife ich meine Augen zusammen. Für einen Bruchteil einer Sekunde scheint es mir so, als hätte ich ein kurzes Blitzen wahrgenommen, fast so wie bei einer Reflexion eines Geodreiecks bei direkter Sonneneinstrahlung. Wie magisch angezogen gehe ich in die Richtung, aus welcher ich das Blitzen vermute. Dort auf dem Boden liegt etwas. Ich schaue nach unten und bemerke einen klobigen silbernen Ring mit einer Gravur. Den werde ich mir später noch genauer anschauen. Als ich den Ring aufhebe bemerke ich, dass ich vor einem im Boden eingelassen Kabelschacht stehe. Eine Bodenplatte ragt etwas heraus. Mir kommt ein Gedankenblitz! Wenn ich es doch schaffen würde die Bodenplatte zu verschieben, könnte ich mich im Schacht verstecken. Mit meinen Händen greife ich nach der Bodenplatte und mir fährt ruckartig ein Schauer über den Rücken. Es fühlt sich an, als würde ich mit der bloßen Hand in einen Sack Eiswürfel fassen. Mit aller Kraft schaffe ich es die Bodenplatte bei Seite zu schieben, gerade soweit, dass der Spalt für mich reichen könnte. Mit den Füßen voran gleite ich hinunter und berühre den darunterliegenden Boden. Da bemerke ich, dass ich auf dicken Kabeln stehe, die von der Serverfarm in den Kabelschacht führen. Nicht das schlechteste Versteck murmele ich und lege mich rücklings in den Kabelschacht. Meine Hände greifen in die Löscher, der mir über liegende Bodenplatte. Jetzt nur noch die Bodenplatte zurück in die Verankerung verschieben. Geschafft!  Die Tür zum Technikraum fällt ins Schloss und ich halte vor Schreck den Atem an. Die Schritte nähern sich meiner Position. Über mir bemerke ich auf einmal ein schwarzes Paar Schuhe mit silbernen Absätzen. Daher kommt also das metallisches Klappern, welches ich eingangs vernommen hatte.

Energiegeladen ist auch die heutige deep story, welche uns von Miss Monique präsentiert wird. Die gebürtige Ukrainerin reist als DJ und Produzentin rund um den Globus und ist mit Ihrem Label Siona Records bekannt für unverwechselbaren progressiven Sound.

This was an incredible experience to put on a motion capture suit and see my avatar dancing and DJIng in real time in an incredible alternate universe!
