This track has been baptized by my 10 year old daughter “Not in this world”. I like it, it suits its special atmosphere. 

Compositionwise, the track follows an AABAB structure. It starts in part A with monophonic lines in the left and the right hand (the first chord of the track is used @0:29) and the track does not shift to polypohony until 0:45. The left hand has a rigid rhythmic pattern of a half followed by two quarters (occasionally another half) that is broken the first time by an eight at 0:41, increasing the tension just before the switch to polyphony (part B). 

Left and right hand in part A are interwoven in that they only rarely have notes played simultaneously. Rather they mostly complement each other in that when one hand plays a note, the other rests. This is done by shifting the left and the right hand by an eight note – the basic 4/4 rhythm is maintained by the left hand while the right hand dances around this pattern with a shift of 1/8. Notationwise this requires tons of ligature bows to depict the notes that lie across the bars (see youtube video for scores). The shifting by 1/8 allows the two hands to complement each other and creates a melodic carpet by intertwining the two melodic threads.

With the start of part Bs polyphony around 0:45, the track falls into a melancholic downward melody interrupted by brief glimpses of hope. While the right hand underlines now the melody with chords, the left hand is now deviating from the strict rhythm to more playful accompaignment with eights. 

The track then repeats the initially monophonic melody of part A, yet now with a bit more chord texture in the right hand and an arpeggio-like quarter pattern in the left hand. Afterwards a more intense variation of the melancholic part B fades finally out into the oblivion of the universe.

The track has been recorded via a pianoTeq Steinway. However, I used four mikes in the virtual setup, two of which I put very close together. I guess, each sound recorder who understands something of his affairs would condemn me for that, but to me, the resonances give a very peculiar feel to the piano tone which suits nicely the mood that I wanted to express.

Alas, it wasn't me who played the guitar!. I gave it up a very, very long time ago. Besides, I can't remember how to pluck the chords... 🙄😊😁 (I used to sing it and play guitar when I was young).

In fact it is a guitar sound from the synthesizer going through a sound module. But no synthesizer guitar sound can replace the real sound of a guitar... Maybe now... With the new technology. Besides you can hear that it is a bit machine.

There are imperfections, I recorded it in one take. When I sing, I only have the feeling once, so inevitably the wrong notes and the pronunciation mistakes are in the “box” as they say.

SONG NOTES AND LYRICS: 
It's nice to be recording again with a view to completing my 5th Solo album over the next few months. I decided to go with just guitar and vocals for this song, which I think best reflects the lyrics. For those interested in how I record my acoustic guitar, I have used a slightly different technique for this song, using a blend of stereo small diaphragm microphones, together with Direct Input from my Taylor electro-acoustic guitar, played through a mixer into my audio interface. Hope you like it.

Hope you enjoy this bit of Christmas. I don't know how it will make you feel, as it is not a traditional arrangement. I just performed the song how I felt. Maybe it will find a place in your heart. There's a lot of artifice in the emotions of Christmas which I wanted to cut through. Minimalism seemed the key, and an improvised guitar on top of the vocal was all I felt it needed to be true to the feeling of the song and the sentiment of the season. I truly wish everyone a merry Christmas, even those who do not recognize the holiday, because I feel that the heart of the season lies in good will and peace and rest and reflection for people all over. Not in any particular religious belief. So, again, have a merry Christmas, and please have a wonderful, productive new year :)

Bill Cosby's life, marked by significant success and public admiration, Born William Henry Cosby Jr. in 1937, he rose to prominence as a comedic actor and television host.  His groundbreaking 1960s-1980s series "The Cosby Show" portrayed a seemingly perfect African-American family, becoming a cultural touchstone and a source of significant pride for many.  This success garnered him immense respect and admiration, making him a household name and a highly influential figure in American society.  He was celebrated for his philanthropic work through the Cosby Scholarship Fund and other endeavors, further solidifying his positive public image.  He established a strong presence and a wide cultural recognition.

We need not mention his mistakes in life. He did the crime and did the time. I am looking forward to the return of Bill and His friend fat Albert.

Tommy Zygote went back to the future past and erased the Cosby incident. Although the term "I have been cosbyied" still worth hanging onto, in some respect the distasteful incidents were almost warranted to develop such a cultural phrase of the time. Not unlike Tommy Zygote doing a Bradbury in the music industry. Not discovered until mid 2025.

This is the 1998 Belgian GP. Absolute carnage at the start. The Jordan boys survived it and we won and got second. I remember Eddie's side on camera shot like a video. No expression. Stunned. No other human being had done this before and will ever do it again. A private team beating all the money! Pure heart! and a bit of luck ☘️ (Brawn GP doesn't count... they developed that car with Hondas money)

This is the 2003 Brazilian GP. We won it again. However Ron Dennis the snake he is tried to bend the rules because of the unsual finish so, wrongly McLaren got presented the trophy... Dennis was a dick! We got the trophy next week when they read the rules on lap count back and finishing the race early because of an accident

This was EJ's third win and in my opinion the most satisfying. This race we won on pace. This race the universe said an Irish man lead a team that built the fastest racing car in the world for that day. That's different to winning with 7 cars left and solidified EJ as man myth legend forever ♾️


After retiring as a team boss... Eddie became the best F1 pundit around. Famous for his inside knowledge he was always the one with the saucy stories haha... Add to that one of the best sense of humours you can get...

Eddie was also a fine drummer and loved his music.

 I remember reading the headline when Senna got taken on teletext... "Senna clinically dead... " I ran to my room and cried on my own thinking I shouldn't be upset about this I didn't know him... Today are my next tears for an F1 legend and I knew enough about him for this to hurt too.

You will be sorely missed Eddie
