Based on a poem I wrote around 1975.  Was working on it when the riots hit the streets this May 2020.  Kinda timely it appears.

It Was Once a Field of Flowers

I am a happily married  83-year-old guy who loves music, golf, and church. I was a professor of psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA,  for 32 years.  I have played in several local bluegrass bands (vocals, banjo, guitar), but have always loved song writing. In the 70s, I was offered a try out at Lowery Music in Atlanta as a song writer, but played it safe and stayed with my academic job.
