All instruments in this song (other than drums) are built from iPhone text tones and ring tones. Even the lead synth in the chorus was created by converting the text tone "Pulse" into a MIDI instrument and then distorting it with overdrive and crunch effects. Most of this song was created in 2015. However, because of school and other musical projects, I kind of forgot about it, even though it's one of my favorite projects ever.

The Smile of the Snake

Two of the most stubborn antagonists in life are distance and time. They hold roles in most of my music actually, although since time is easier to rhyme, it tends to show up more. Whether I'm longing for the past, hoping for the future, or bending under the weight of the present, I find that too many problems of mine originate from the push and pull of these concepts. 
To explain the tune in one sentence... 
It's crazy that you can simultaneously feel like you're taking too long to get somewhere while also feeling like everything's happening too fast.

I remixed this song just so that I could listen to it whenever I go running. I've been listening to Spotify's running playlists and realized his powerful vocals would work great with this sort of beat. If you're a runner, this tempo will keep you at a good pace of 180 BPM. Anyway, usually I keep these sort of songs to myself but I thought I might as well share. Let me know what you think and/or if you use it to pace your run.
