DJ Serene is an Amsterdam-based DJ and booker. Together with LYZZA they founded X3 in 2017, an organization that focuses on creating safer-spaces and more authentic experiences in Amsterdam’s nightlife. Serene has probably played at every underground club in Amsterdam, where you will hear her play percussive electronic tracks and a mix of all other kinds of club music. 
Music is a tool that DJ Serene employs to bind her inner and outer world together – something she tried to manifest with this mix as well.

Hence Therefore makes a long overdue return to All Centre, putting together his first release on the label since 2019. The Warrang/Sydney-based artist delivers two fast-slow stormers on Elite Panic, channeling forward-thinking production into endlessly compelling dancefloor cuts.

The title track opens with dubbed-out sirens and scattered breaks, building the tension with elasticated bass hits and rolling kicks. Rising, radiant synths lift the track to new heights, reaching euphoric peaks amongst hectic percussive patterns which envelope and intoxicate the listener.

On Zero Trust, filtered vocals bubble beneath the surface whilst infectious percussion stutters across the frequency spectrum. A bouncy sub bass punches its way amongst the percussion whilst floaty synth lines alternate and intersect, reaching new levels with the introduction of a mesmerising droning synth line, then launching back into a heavy, propulsive rhythm.

Elite Panic is available on digital platforms from February 21st.

'Elite Panic' is a forthcoming two-tracker by Gadigal/Wangal Land based Hence Therefore, a bouncy, melted duo of dancehall steppers. The producer, sometimes live performer & DJ has seen praise across the seas, with releases on Early Reflex, DECISIONS and 3bs, as well as regular plays by Batu, M.E.S.H., object blue, AYA, Laksa & many more.

'Zero Trust' is track 2/2 of the release. Regularly switching between half & doubletime, 'Zero Trust' is like a soft, gooey centre at the core of any good dance floor. Textured, building and unpredictable, it seems to do everything bar physically lifting you off your feet.

Of the release, Hence Therefore shared: "The EP title is a phrase I came across in Rebecca Solnit's A Paradise Built In Hell - she writes that in a catastrophe most of us get on with helping each other with the necessities of life while the rich & powerful freak out about law, order & commerce... "

& of the track: "Some string-flourishing sample from the All Centre discord server got shredded into icy dancehall groove with a randomised arpeggiator. An uncharacteristically crisp & whirring stepper developed around it - playfully wrong-footed low end, attempted snare abstinence, snare indulgence, caroline_gasp.wav, things of this nature."

ptpf is an acronym derived from the surname of Russian producer Ilya Potapov. Coming from Saint Petersburg, Potapov has been self-releasing comprehensive collections of sorely wrenched music for the past couple years. His first two projects under the ptpf moniker - '1935' and 'G.D. ' (dating back to 2015 and 2016, respectively) somewhat resemble the formula fundamental for the haunting atmosphere of an early witch house or other industrial offshots. Although the experimental nature of ptpf's works is evident throughout these releases, the transition towards more abstract realms manifests utterly on his 2019 album 'Salivation'. Coming out via the already-cult label Quantum Natives, 'Salivation' sees ptpf embracing the disorder and the tensity that was previously tamed and now has been let loose entirely. Gin&Platonic are now pleased to present ptpf's follow-up musical instalment - 'obsession'.

On 'obsession', Potapov's signature distant muttering collides with abraded power electronics, together creating a four-track EP full of dreadful emotional confession not everybody is ready to hear out loud. The disturbing nature of the project evokes a gradual dissociation from a long-forgotten tenderness into an emotional imbalance and urgent confusion. What once felt like affection, now feels like an obsession.

The leading single 'Shibari' is remixed by @rina-priduvalova, a Ukrainian interdisciplinary artist who released her first EP 'The Tears Of Things' in 2019. She is now in the process of preparing multiple audiovisual projects together with Diana Azzuz as Ximena. We also reached out to Greek rhythmic alchemists @ice_eyes, whose releases we have on heavy rotation, having received a slamming remix of 'Nobody´s Fault'. Last but not least, the endlessly creative brain behind Quantum Natives themselves - @ornine - closes the release with a sublime rework of 'Last Record'.

She'd taken to fixating on the slow moving hands on the clock, tap tap tapping away at her desk with the end of her pen. It was almost as if she went in to a trance-like state when she entered the building each day; doing what she needed to do, but never more. Instead she spent the majority of her time day dreaming about escaping this dull place, of moving on to pastures new, of taking on new challenges and embarking on exciting adventures. It would happen, eventually.

With a background in scoring video games and animated movies, Warsaw-based producer and sound designer Ku Ku has a real knack for playing with unusual techniques and lush, atmospheric motifs. Following contributions for compilations on Classical Trax and BAS, which is the label this new release lands on, Ku Ku presents a collection of four original tracks plus three remixes, that were spawned from hours of material that have since been remoulded and formed into a cohesive release that meanders through sparse electronics, video game samples and shoegaze flourishes.

Carlos Marta is the Tijuana Mexico- based producer behind Benfika, an enigmatic music project from Infinite Machine that released his debut on the imprint back in 2015 with the EP 121214. In his most recent comeback Ruinas, he presents a mystical and ethereal release where he unveils his most overwhelming and rousing side, an eerie exploration on organic, celestial and crystalline sounds.
