This is the first single off of Hesk's forthcoming Cleansed EP (Feb 10th)

Hesk is a Footwork DJ and producer from the Netherlands, currently based out of Toronto, playing a key role in the diffusion of Footwork and Juke in Canada since 2010.

"While working on Cleansed the primary focus was to make cold, footwork-battle ready tracks while still keeping club dance floors in mind. I pushed my boundaries as a producer, experimenting with more minimal and less-sounding tracks composed primarily of drums, sub bass, and synthesizers. Whereas in the past I've focused my productions around a Soul or RnB heavy sound that often includes samples, for this project I mainly used hardware such as the Dave Smith OB-6 and the Roland MC-307."

As we’ve all seen Tāmaki Makaurau has suffered massive devastation after the floods a few weeks ago with the good people of the north being heavily affected with some losing their homes & entire livelihood’s including lots of dear friends & whanau of The Big Fresh Collective - We turned to local artists & businesses to donate a bit of their time and support to a great cause in order to raise some funds for those in need ❤

Footmahi For Tāmaki Makaurau is a non for profit, Footwork & Juke inspired compilation album where artists from all over Aotearoa & the rest of the world have donated tracks in support of The Victims of the recent floods and the people of Tāmaki Makaurau.

The compilation is centered around raising money for the victims of the floods and also restoring a bit of love and happiness back through the way we know best; with good music!

Created on a $0 budget with tracks donated from acclaimed artists locally and abroad; The compilation will be available under a name-your-own-price deal on Bandcamp which means you get to choose how much you want to donate towards the cause and you receive a high-quality download of the album - 100% of profits will be going directly to The Auckland City Mission  ❤

Bristol-based label Durkle Disco shining light on producers in grime, dubstep, garage, hip hop and experimental 130 bpm sounds, put together a compilation of all the above mentioned styles under the title Definitions Vol. 1.

The span of the artists involved is world-wide, including producers like Lamont, Lojik, Daffy & Unkey, Gundam, Body Double, Mythra and more. The solid line up ensures the quality of the compilation, and even if you don’t recognize some of the aforementioned names, you can rely on our stamp of approval.
