"Il y a longtemps sur les murs de villes lointaines s’étalaient ces proclamations faites à la va-vite avec une bombe : 'NO FUTURE'. Leurs auteurs d’alors ne pouvaient savoir que le futur serait pourtant toujours là, sur Kepler-129, impalpable mais bien réel. 

Dans les artères illuminées des villes aux ciels sans étoiles, les friches abandonnées au temps, aux odeurs de poussière et de métal. Dans les caves insalubres où les esprits libres se rassemblent pour s’adonner à leurs émois. Parce qu’il n’y a plus que ça. 

Évoluant parmi ces spectres, une silhouette mélancolique en salopettes. Elle passe des disques qui parlent d’amour et de son absence, de perdition dans l’océan sombre et glacé des temps modernes. Si le monde est si froid, pourquoi la musique ne serait-elle pas ? Les synthétiseurs remplaceront nos voix, et les caisses claires métalliques les battements du cœur. 

Nifa, c’est son nom, ne s’arrête pas une vision du monde à zéro kelvin. Sentiments et souvenirs sont fugaces, tels des flashs de stroboscopes se noyant dans la saturation des bruits…"

Welcome to the Windy City and the manufacturing belt, straight out the midwest 🌬 
The rap scene here wasn’t established yet during the mid-90’s, grabbing influences from NY and LA, still looking to find its own trademark. It was mostly gangsta rap sounding a lot like your typical californian signature, some more conventional production inspired by the eastern conference, and many in-betweeners. 
This recollection tends to point out a large panorama of tracks, think about it more as a collage and a mosaic, a plural entity. It reminds us about inner city social issues such as schizophrenia. It’s, in the end, the tale of two cities merged together, a manic dychotomia. One is giving a proud message about its territorial background and norms, the other one is preaching peace, asking for a better future.

Our paths crossed with Slim at @dimensionsfestival two summers ago, and an instant connection was forged over our shared love for unique and squelchy tunes. „In the heart of the once-vibrant metropolis, now reclaimed by creeping vines and golden grass, stood a relic of the tribe’s most sacred gathering place. A circular amphitheater. When the tribe had thrived, this place pulsed with life. At dawn, they assembled for the meditative harmonies of ambient soundscapes, nightfall was their time of celebration. House music rose from the circle like a living entity, joyful yet introspective, designed to celebrate unity without drowning the senses.“

Hailing from the beautiful city of Tbilisi, Zaqaria made his first marks on the world of electronic music in the form of a YouTube channel. Uploading rare finds, peek bangers and weird rhythms from all genres alike, the self-named channel slowly rose to cult status among us Basement members and beyond our small but dedicated scene. Many tracks were discovered via his curation and eventually played out at some infamous parties we had the pleasure of sharing with you. We are more than happy that we could reach out to him and convince him to join the tribe of Aural Language to deliver an hour+ of house music extravaganza. Cherry after cherry, picked with an eye for detail, is what’s giving this recording its warm feeling while still keeping energy levels up throughout the whole stretch.

An advocate for connectivity, in recent years Bugsy has toured some of the best talents coming out of London through his party Circular Imagination. Taking artists back to his home cities in China to pass on his influences to those unable to access as such quite so easily.
