I've always been a fan of the track Spanish Joint  but I felt like the original is fairly mellow and couldn't find a way to fit it into my DJ sets. So i remixed this acoustic Spanish Joint with a more vibey dance feel so I can play out. Added new synths, keys, drums, bass, and sound efx.

The Kero 1 remix/re-edit that took the dj world by storm is finally on 7” vinyl. On the A side, “Spanish Joint” remix was featured on Okayplayer,  HouseofDisco, BBC 1xtra, Soulection UK Boiler Room and played digitally by top DJ's when it dropped nearly a decade ago on Soundcloud. The b-side remix of Roberta’s cover gets a new dance floor treatment never been heard before. Both sides are dance floor sure shots.

D'angelo Feel Like Makin' Love (Kero 1 remix) on 7" vinyl

The vibraphone, a.k.a. the "vibes" is without a doubt one of my favorite instruments. Not only for its obscurity, but the "vibes" sound is warm, beautiful, and slightly dark at the same time.  It was used in a lot of jazz recordings decades ago, sampled in the 90's by hiphop artists (i.e. Tribe,  Big L, Common) but is rarely used in modern music today.  When I first heard the original "Bitch don't kill my vibe" track, I thought the Tiden Flyver sample was done very well but thought it would be cool if Kendrick actually used "vibes" in the production.   So here it is, a music nerds play on words come to life.  Enjoy.

This time, K dot gets a classic city pop rework on the A-side at 119 bpm, adeptly titled “Vinyl Love”, meanwhile the B-side uses a familiar vibraphone jazz sample for an appropriately titled “B*tch Dont Kill my Vibes”. This bouncy jazz hop remix previously released almost a decade ago on Soundcloud with nearly 100k streams.
