San Diego based DJ's / Producers Currents and Jesusdapnk make their Kultur debut, intermixing elements of Latin, Deep & Jackin House on their four track 'Havana 2 Paris' EP. The frequent collaborators tap in vocalist Marie Berson, who sprinkles her French touch on 'Parisian Nights', and enlist SF based DJ James Juke for his signature "hot take" of 'Havana 909'. Scott Diaz has a sizeable discography to his name, so it's little surprise that his latest expansive EP for Grand Plans is a mature and superbly produced affair. Check, for example, the grown-up feel of opener "Mistreated", where heart-aching soulful house vocal samples ride a backing track full of jazz-flecked drums, twinkling music box melodies and yearning chords. The same sort of praise could be heaped onto the languid electric pianos, bumping beats and half spoken, half sung vocals of "Take It Back" (where vocalist KE urges us all to focus on the music, rather than the technology DJs now use), as well as the sample-heavy smoothness of "I Sold My Soul". In other words, it's a luscious EP for those who like their house deep and soulful.

5 Mag Chicago Review:

Scott Diaz is putting his music where his mouth is. Never shy on the topic of a House track's disposability.... you may be tempted to accuse him of being part of the problem. You would be wrong. He is one of today's most prolific producers and remixers, but he doesn't really know how to make a bad record and that counts for something. Yet somehow it's not even close to good enough for him. The push to do even better, to make records that stand the test of time is essentially the mission statement for his label Grand Plans. So far things are going according to said plans.

The Paradox of Principles is the third take-your-pick-of-the-litter, fabulous batch of jazz- and soul- infused Deep House. If you need a good early track that still turns a few heads, this is where you want to look. "Mistreated" in particular exemplifies Scott's thoughtful nature through the music itself, whereas "I Sold My Soul" and "Take it Back" do it more through the use of vocal samples. The latter features another thoughtful producer, KE aka Kid Enigma, with a nice cooler vibe in comparison to his original take. Studioheist get the honor of being the first remixers featured on Grand Plans and their work here is exceptional.

That has earned this world-class DJ, producer the affectionate nickname the Stevie Wonder of House music.

As a skilled multi-instrumentalist and Dolby Atmos certified recording engineer with a propensity for tinkering under the hood, Chandler strives to understand every aspect of sound recording and amplification. Kerri is constantly pushing the boundaries of recording technology and live-performance sound systems. When this talented DJ, and producer is behind the decks at notable venues as diverse as Printworks in London and Sub Club in Glasgow, you are guaranteed to be awash in quality music that reflects his experience as a global performer. You can never anticipate what you’re going to experience. With a discography spanning three decades, Kerri's first release Super Lover/ Get It Off on Atlantic Records in 1991 set the stage for what was to become a signature sound. His creations launched a wave of admirers and imitators of his deep lush chords and soulful grooves that stir emotions and movement. In his continuous search to inspire and nurture new talent, he forged MadTech Records and the eclectic Kaoz Theory imprints soon followed becoming the flashpoint for such artists as the Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler, and Tony Lionni.

Kerri having just released his latest album the 24-track homage to international nightlife “Spaces and Places”, jumps headlong into the world of spatial audio with Dolby Atmos This new immersive sound format allows sounds to travel through a space not merely backward and forwards but circles in all directions. With the international support of club owners and engineers, a total of 24 iconic night spots were transformed into recording studios infusing each track with the full sound characteristics of the rooms they were recorded in. Spaces diverse as London's Ministry of Sound, Paris Rex, Berlin’s Watergate, Barcelona’s Razzmatazz, or New York's Knockdown Center creating a whole new layer of complexity and accuracy. “If I wasn’t working doing the stuff I love doing, I’d probably work at Dolby,” Chandler says. “My job became my hobby, and my hobby became my job.”

Kerri's latest series of dates brings all of this time and attention full circle combining the meticulous attention to sound, atmosphere, and craft that ensures that you will be taken on a musical adventure second to none.
