Duet for Piano and Rain

This is my first two-instrument town theme for Karleen Heong's game music composition class. It uses harp and concertina sounds and is meant to be a continuous loop while players are in the town. My ficitional town is a serene little rustic fishing village somewhere just north of the Shire.

Digital stereo recording of gentle waves on a pebble beach, with my Garageband composition over the top. It begins with a brief orchestral introduction and then becomes just piano and waves, with the occasional bird, insect, or distant boat in the background if you listen real hard. Created specifically to help myself fall asleep at night.

A total departure from my usual mellow fare. We have a lot of ravens here in the Pacific Northwest. They are BIG, noisy, funny, awesome, and extremely cool. So I was just sitting outside one day watching a bunch of them clowning around, and this is the result. Starts off with just the ravens, and then gets funkier as it bops along.

Chillin' with the Raven

I'm a bit off the mainstream here, I guess, seeing as how my music is mostly low-key (no pun intended) and meditative. But I love the energy I find here along with the diversity of people and styles. I come here to be inspired by other musicians, and to get my ears opened up to musical possibilities that take me beyond my well-worn tracks.
