About
A crossover between American duo The Body, who have been tinkering with noise and metal since 1999, and Berlin-based DJ, producer, and vocalist Felicia Chen (AKA Dis Fig) was bound to make the earth shake. Sure enough, ‘Orchards of a Futile Heaven’, the collaboration’s first outing, sent seismic ripples reverberating throughout the heavy music scene. The Body’s previous flirtations with techno, minimal wave, and industrial meet full steam ahead Dis Fig’s seasoned club expertise in a collaborative project that is also, lest we forget, profoundly emotional.

Foster's gritty vocals clash with Oddie's dark sound manipulations, reflecting a world on the edge of collapse — a bleak view of modern civilization embodied in their uncompromising music.

Nine is the magic number, making this a very special release since the 2005-launch of the artist's previous album, Udefra. So following a busy period of collaborations, projects and performances - Sofus brings us FM Volta: featuring a fusion of man-machine energies, identifying in particular with the modular synthesizer.

From the bizarre and eccentric to the dark and spacey: non-standard techniques in music production have culminated in some incredibly experimental sounds. This latest album is a sonic animation in the truest sense of the word – a painting of sound vibrations inspired by band members: the modular synthesizer, drum/FX machines and mixer.
 
The artist demonstrates a fascination with the 'patterns of sound' illustrated by nature:  “If we look at geometry and the pre-designed elements of nature – everything is already there, so I feel I am channeling that information. So by studying things like the Fibonacci sequence of numbers and fractals – I am simply presenting ideas of how I see the world and the universe. It's all connected – just like music, maths and science.”

From John Coltrane and Hendrix to Autechre: inspiration for music is discovered throughout the ages. The FM Volta album is a revelation though as it follows a nine-year spell of experimenting, studying, exploring, performing and collaborating. It's been a long-time coming - yet Sofus Forsberg has reached one of the most defining pinacles of his musical career with this exceptional new release, in which he unveils a fascinating approach to music production.

The artist will continue to share, collaborate and release new material well into 2014. It's going to be an interesting year ahead. In the meantime, we are happy to share with you this new production from the artist – so feel inspired and watch this space for more from Sofus Forsberg this year.

Orphx makes a striking comeback with a six-track EP on KR3, celebrating Rich & Christie’s three-decade career bridging the industrial music and techno scenes. 

Theikos EP - spans multiple eras and moods, merging raw, ancient production methods with modern interpretations. The result is a sonic landscape that bridges pulsing club rhythms with the intense energy of extreme electronics and death industrial. The title track, "Theikos," began in 1998 and was only finalized in 2024, years of evolution shaping it into a truly formidable piece.

This 12" release stands out as a deep and fully realized body of work, filled with personal insight and resonant echoes of a primordial world.

The standard edition comes in a sleek single-pocket gatefold sleeve, featuring a 1997 photograph taken in Toronto by Michael Nine, capturing the duo in their early years and visually anchoring the album to the roots of their sound. Limited and special editions include an exclusive booklet with archival photos of Orphx and a poster, along with a promotional videos featuring remastered and reimagined archival footage created especially for this release.

Kim Rapatti a.k.a Mono Junk presents the second volume of Finnish Electro All-Star on his DUM Records imprint – active since 1992.
The new release is the latest chapter of Mono Junk collaborating with friends, recently with Mesak and Freestyle Man.
The A-Side of Finnish Electro All-Star (DUM-040) features collaborations with top Finnish electro duo Morphology, who recently released an outstanding album on Firescope label. Electro Por Favor is a pulsating driving electro track with a killer bassline and vocals by Rapatti – Electro at its best. Raw, apocalyptic, solitary remix by Mono Junk follows the original.
The B-Side features collaborations between Mono Junk and a very special guest: Goner a.k.a. Martin Maischen, who is known from many hot releases as the other half of German electro act Sandbenders. They were at most active around the millennium and made releases for Force Inc. Music Works and Science City. The two included tracks are deep electroid techno excursions made last year in Berlin. Vinyl release date is 24 th of September.
