"From the early days of the free party scene from brickworks to caves to beaches Ive been there filling generaters banging tent pegs ,laying cables carrying soundsystems known as "Jim the WaterMan" wandering the party with a waterbutt and cup on a string hydrating party people for fun and spliffs,to making music with 303s samplers and drum machines,putting on Chill Sites at festivals in Tipis djing till dawn,to having a little club in our bassment with brick dj booth, to being in bands nobody heard of playing keyboards,to ,moving to Manchester partying at Bugged out ,to having our own collective putting party nighs on ,to moving to the countryside ,to having an accident having to walk with sticks no more dancing the night away,so here still djing in my living room with cool tunes I find with my family and cats keeping it real,I do the mixes for me to play in our van and my workshop,I love to share them with you and to bigup the talented folk who make the tunes ,theres so much cool music out there,Im just doing my bit.Enjoy life its the only one you have :}Jim....."

Hart Thorson has been DJ'ing since 2002 while coming up in the venerable Midwest electronic music scene. Having played every genre imaginable, he’s curated a unique sound and style. Sai:
Real name Kerstin Saidykhan. During the pandemic time in 2021 Sai restarted mixing music after more than 15 years and published her sets on SoundCloud. Her mixes has a focus on dubtechno, acid dub, drone, dark ambient and other experimental and eclectic stuff.. She called her mix series “Moments of Light ‘n Darkness” (MLD). MLD shall represent a wide spectrum of genres. Meanwhile Sai presents also guest mixes on her SoundCloud Channel.
"Dubtechno became a very special role to me caused by its introvert, meditative and hypnotic attitude which fits very good to me in the present time.
So music is much more than entertainment to me and shaped my personality my whole life – and this development never stops, can’t help, it just happens all the while.
My mixes reflects my personality in many ways, I would say, means sometimes smooth, restrained and homogeneous, sometimes diverse and ambivalent. Under people I'm always a bit introverted. I guess, I'm like a lizard what needs the sun around to get warmed up. And I can’t do small talk. Sitting and watching, while people interacting... and than give some unpredictable shots is my special attitude - heard people saying that about me, haha."

DUBBISM #221 - Sai

Quadrant Soundscape are Tommy Harrison and Wilson Logan from Manchester. Together, they are the minds behind the Dub Explorations Radio Show. They also run a series of live events at the famous Eastern Bloc Records, with notable guest appearances from Ohm, Kvadrant, El Choop, Andy Green, Mike Shommer.

The Dub Explorations Radio Show itself has well surpassed 110 shows, all 3 hours in length which is an insight into the dedication they have for hunting underground music to showcase and push forward - [www.soundcloud.com/quadrantsoundscape/sets/dub-explorations]

They have also expanded their musical output which now includes “The Quadrasphere“ series where artists are invited to show a different musical side of themselves from what you might expect, as well as the soon to launch Frontier Series where they will have world rebounded artists showcasing their sound. 

Over the last 8 years, the boys have featured on many podcasts across the globe, where their creative style of playing Ambient, Dub Techno, Minimal and Detroit Techno on 4 decks, while incorporating live samples is always well received. This has also led to them being invited to play many gigs in Manchester, London and Berlin.

Individually, Tommy produces music as Asphalt Layer. His deep, electronic and dubby sound being heard on multiple record labels worldwide. Incorporating analog machines and field recordings to generate the many noises he uses in his productions, along with that 90's Jungle influence, his sound is very recognisable.

And Wilson has begun a new alias, Scavenger, where he dives deep into the murky, experimental and dark, trippy techno world to produce very unique mixes. This alias allows Wilson to experiment more with his records and sound, often performing in a dark room on 4 decks alone.

Biography: 
Born and raised in East Germany, PLVS discovered his passion for electronic music as a teenager in Leipzig’s evolving techno scene. His journey as a DJ began in 2001 with a cheap pair of turntables and a stack of second-hand hard techno vinyl.

After moving to Berlin in 2004, his sound became more defined, largely influenced by the late Tresor club and the early days of Berghain, where he quickly became a regular. Over the years, he lived in various international cities, always seeking fresh inspiration for his music. He was actively involved in multiple electronic music collectives and spent many years as a selector and DJ, curating finely crafted and deliberate sets. Now, PLVS has found a new home on the misty, mysterious west coast of Vancouver Island. 

Today, after two decades of collecting and immersing himself in electronic music, PLVS has embraced dub techno as his true passion. His sets, characterized by a driving, dancefloor-focused sound, seamlessly blend the atmospheric depth of classic dub techno with the precision of straight techno—creating an experience that resonates both in the club and beyond.

I have experienced a lot of different electronic types and styles during my musical biography which began in the 8oies as a teen with Postpunk and dark wave and develloped further with Ska, Reggae, Jungle, Drum 'n Bass and Techno. Reggae and the Jamaician Soundsystem Culture had also a big influence to me, after visiting Jamaica for two times at the end of the 90ies...

Dubtechno became a very special role to me cause of its introvert meditative attitude which fits very good to me now in the present time.

So music is much more than entertainment to me and shaped my personality by getting much energy from it.
And this is something, what I want to bring over in my diverse and genres overarching mixes.

P.S.: I distance myself from any extremist ideas and religious or political brainwashing attitudes. As well as stigmatization of any kind. I do this to the best of my knowledge and belief.
