I am very happy to be able to present another exellent guest mix on my Channel. This time it is a DJ called Harknee, located in London who I invited to contribute after I discovered him recently. 
And this mix fullfilled my expectations 100%. It has this yearning and mourning inside what I've found already in other mixes from him. On the other hand he has a very dry and subtile humour. A markable mixture in my view.

Here're some personal words from him about this mix he was sending: "When I make mixes, I like to picture where they might be listened to. For this one, the idea was to keep things laidback yet light — ideal for summery afternoons spent relaxing at home or out in nature. I imagined myself chilling in the garden, the sun beating down while the wind crackles the leaves in the trees. Wherever you're listening from, I hope you can find a quiet spot in nature and unwind with this mix."

Harknee is a DJ and producer exploring the intersection between techno music and the natural world.

This exploration sees him take elements of nature, from quiet birdsong to large landscapes, and incorporate them into his work, generating a contrast between repetitive rhythms and the unpredictability of the living world. His creations look to evoke the essence of the earth to create sonic landscapes, placing the listener in the midst of flora and fauna.

He runs a mix series called Biophilia, where he showcases this exploration of techno music and nature and encourages listeners to seek out the beauty of the natural world. Find it here @harknee

We really had such a wonderful time on 24th Aug 2025 when we were testing the headphone set-up for the MLD goes silent sessions, what turned out as a first edition of Elektrik Café Berlin, together with our collaborator Gijs Gruijters, playing a wonderful modular set under his artist moniker SHIFTY, together with He Ling and Bian Bian from China and also a set from Sai, what you can listen here now 

Everything was glued together smoothly and the sound with the bluetooth connection is really great! The whole concept builds a wonderful atmosphere with the gloomy headphones while sitting inside, diving into the music and the venue, also with video art installations... or sitting outside in fresh air, watching people passing by and inviting them to join. A big thanks also to Krumm & Schief Café at Prenzl Berg, who lent us their nice venue as the perfect location for this project. Prince Mooi, known in the electronic music scene as Vli M, is a South African DJ, producer from (Stretford, Johannesburg) and label founder whose journey is deeply rooted in a lifelong passion for sound. His love for music and deejaying began at just 14 years old, setting the foundation for a path defined by rhythm, experimentation, and growth.

In 2019, Vli M took his craft further by stepping into music production, channeling his influences into a signature style that blends deep, atmospheric textures with driving grooves. Since then, his music has resonated on respected imprints such as Piranha Siberia Dub, Kopoc Label, Deep Music Frequencies, and Deep Obsession Recordings, gaining recognition within the global deep and dub techno communities.

As a visionary beyond the decks, Vli M is also the founder of three independent record labels: Jive Afrika Recordings, Pink Couch Records, and Barber Music Rec. Each platform showcases not only his own creativity but also provides a space for emerging talent, reflecting his commitment to shaping and uplifting the underground electronic music landscape.

I have experienced a lot of different electronic types and styles during my musical biography which began in the 8oies as a teen with Postpunk and dark wave and develloped further with Ska, Reggae, Jungle, Drum 'n Bass and Techno. Reggae and the Jamaician Soundsystem Culture had also a big influence to me, after visiting Jamaica for two times at the end of the 90ies...

Dubtechno became a very special role to me cause of its introvert meditative attitude which fits very good to me now in the present time.

So music is much more than entertainment to me and shaped my personality by getting much energy from it.
And this is something, what I want to bring over in my diverse and genres overarching mixes.

P.S.: I distance myself from any extremist ideas and religious or political brainwashing attitudes. As well as stigmatization of any kind. I do this to the best of my knowledge and belief.
