Most of us are still in the ‘transition’ period when going back to the dance floor and partying. After more than a year, it feels surreal being surrounded by friends and strangers, sharing the energy of the music, and welcoming the Sun during the after hours. The mix we are excited to present to you today comes from Horkheimer, the co-curator of The Live in Robert Johnson record label (https://soundcloud.com/live-at-robert-johnson)and founder of KLINIKA (https://soundcloud.com/klinikamusik). 
It is a perfect soundtrack for the interim state we are in right now and reminiscent of the beginning of the club night when DJ slowly prepares the crowd for the marathon ahead. The art of warm-up DJ is almost gone and a skill that takes years to master. 

During this 70min, Horkheimer manages to masterfully create a warm-up set ‘sampler’ and takes a listener for quite a journey which slowly unfolds from leftfield electronica to depths of dub techno and closing this chapter with marvelous track ‘Swallowing Tubes’ by Robert Dietz, which is coming out soon on LARJ.

As I like to add some extra Seabra Monkey sauce to my mixtapes to give it my own flavour, I have edited some tracks. 
The opening track is my own and is remixed for this mixtape to fit it better. 
The original version is set for release on February 12th 2024. 
The track is personal as Lia is a long lost relative that came back into my life recently. 
She is a big fan of what I do and to honor her I have created this track especially for her! 
I feel the mixtape came out well and I do hope you all will like it too.

Every so often a guest comes along that can be described as a ‘Legend’!
So please welcome a pioneer of the NYC, New Jersey 90’s Deep House sound….Jovonn!
Accomplished Dj since the 80’s and producer of some of the rawest, deepest, phatest underground house tracks on,
Emotive, Goldtone, Azuli, Kult, Distance, Track Mode, West End, Royal Oak, Nu Groove…and not to forget his own, incredible label..Body’N’Deep. Serious 🔥

A native of Brooklyn and current resident of Queens (New York), Jovonn has been active in the music scene since the age of 10.
Jovonn began his career as a Hip-Hop DJ at the age of 14 and started spinning records at those infamous New York block parties of the 80s where he was introduced to the growing New York House music scene, hanging out in seminal Brooklyn clubs.
Years later clubs such as The Loft, The Choice, Snobbusters and Zanzibar, solidified his full commitment to House music. Exploding onto the house scene in 1991 with his second release, “Turn and Runaway” on Warner Bros. Records, (which reached number 10 on the Billboard chart and catapulted Jovonn on to the global scene) He then went on to set up his first record label, Goldtone Records, in the early 1990’s via Emotive Records (label compilation dropped on clone last year) and since then has produced more than 500 records in the House, R&B, Hip-Hop and Neo Soul genres, not to mention film scores and soundtracks although his true love has always been House music. 
Jovonn launched his new label venture Body N’Deep in 2017, dedicated to releasing the hottest deep and raw underground house tracks from Jovonn and his crew of producers and vocalists including tracks from legendary artists such as Karizma, Delano Smith and Louie Vega.

I have experienced a lot of different electronic types and styles during my musical biography which began in the 8oies as a teen with Postpunk and dark wave and develloped further with Ska, Reggae, Jungle, Drum 'n Bass and Techno. Reggae and the Jamaician Soundsystem Culture had also a big influence to me, after visiting Jamaica for two times at the end of the 90ies...

Dubtechno became a very special role to me cause of its introvert meditative attitude which fits very good to me now in the present time.

So music is much more than entertainment to me and shaped my personality by getting much energy from it.
And this is something, what I want to bring over in my diverse and genres overarching mixes.

P.S.: I distance myself from any extremist ideas and religious or political brainwashing attitudes. As well as stigmatization of any kind. I do this to the best of my knowledge and belief.
