Who are you?

My Name is Kayleigh and I am from Northampton. I work in customer service, but I have a passion for music and I am currently working to make it into my full-time career.

Who inspires you?

One of my biggest inspirations all through music has been Sidney Charles, ever since I started this music journey and getting into house music, going to events etc, when I turned 18 which was almost 8 years ago now, he has always been there. I remember always listening to his tracks ‘Going Down, Jack Endlessly and Power of The Underground back’ in the day and as my sound changed it was always aligned with his, I love his fast-paced upbeat Synthy tracks he produces now. It's so hard for me to genuinely pick who also inspires me because I feel there are elements to a lot of DJs that inspire me. 

What is your sound?

Anything that is fast paced, has whacky elements to it and just builds energy. I am also in love with the 90's house, the organ elements in the 90's house are just unmatched. I feel that I have a pretty good selection of music that keeps my sets pretty unpredictable but it's always high energy sets.

When did you start your journey?

Music has always been special to me. I started getting into electronic music when I was around 15 it started through Dubstep and then Drum & Bass then through to House & Techno when I turned 17 and started to go out to town before all the big scanners and there was just a door man looking at ID's, when you could get away with recycling one of your mate’s ID's. when I was 17 deep house was getting pretty big on the scene as this was the 2013/2014 era and instantly, I was hooked to it. my DJing journey started towards the end of 2019 when I brought some DDJ400 and taught myself off YouTube and then a few months later covid hit so I had so much time I just utilised it the best I could and then by the time lock down eased towards the start of 2021 I played my first gig in Corby in Northamptonshire.

Where are you located and where do you want to go?

I am from Northampton but I love it up North, just the vibes and people are great. I've always loved Leeds and every time I go it feels so homely to me, ever since I first went in 2015 and kept coming back ever since, I am aiming to move there hopefully next year. 


Why is music important to you?

So, music’s always been a big thing in my life. I’ve always loved it but there is a point in my life that it shifted and became so special and became a passion that I hold to my heart, there’s not one minute that goes by that I don't think about anything that's not associated with music. I have ADHD and have struggled with being able to find my way properly in life, music’s given me a direction. I have been through some really dark times in my life like everyone has but 2019 was probably the worst year of my life, I went through a series of traumatic events that left me suffering from PTSD, the only thing that got me through that year was music. Going to the events and festivals was an escape from my reality for a bit, even if it was for a day/night or a weekend, I didn't care about anything but that present moment, I wasn't worried about anything but just completely submerged in the music. All of my best mates I have at the moment were met through music. The whole scene’s given me so much joy that it started to become clear to me that this is what I want to do. Everyone has something going on in their lives and music is a way to let off steam and let your hair down for a bit, a way to relieve stress. I know it all sounds cringy and cliche but it literally saved my life. When I realised that it was clear that I wanted to be able to give people that escape that I felt, I wanted to give back to the scene what the scene's given me.

Meeting the sunset on the way home so as to get a rare press is priceless! The pedometer merely indicated a long-awaited rest. Having settled down near their favourite coffee table, the friends lay down and thoughtfully stared at the ceiling. The cartridge gently skidded on the shiny black surface. The grooves rotated a carousel of bass and percussion, transmitting a heartfelt rhythm to everything around. Bright envelopes scattered all over the living room were the keepers of the real mystery.

– What do you feel now, Plate? 
– It feels like this EP has many shades. They're imprinted everywhere, do you get it?

5 years ago it all started with our very first release the Raw Joints #1. We wanted to build a platform for our artists to publish their music as they see it. Now 13 releases further we're ready to introduce our biggest project ever since: Raw joints #5!! To celebrate our 5th anniversary we decided to do something special and we had so many tracks that we decided to do a triple LP with 14 tracks on it. A lot of new/old artists have contributed to this heavy weight dance floor bomb with various styles and energy. To top it off we asked our good friends from Studio Airport to complete this thing with a proper Raw Joint sleeve. 
The mask is the face of SlapFunk and inside this gatefold sleeve you will find us all dancing to that one thing which unites us all: Music!

Introducing Kesh Loi. A front runner in a new generation of production prodigies. Based in the centre of the colourful, Midland House Music scene, Kesh not only thrives but has a hand in shaping the unique, party starting sound being found in his area. Focused on piecing together elements from a wide range of genres to create a sound that would be welcomed on almost any dance floor, Kesh has taken inspiration from not only a wide range of artists, but a plethora of situations and events that have made his journey through music unique.

Kesh has focused his releases on young, exciting labels such as Friktion, Orange Records and Abstrakt Music whilst not missing out on opportunities to add his name to the roster of more experienced labels such as Hungarian Hot Wax. His EP’s have a reputation of smashing the charts, with his first solo EP ‘Peach’ on LuvRhythm Records breaking into the top 10 global releases and his most recent release ‘Conga Bonga’ on Friktion storming the Minimal / Deep Tech Releases charts, reaching #9.

Kesh’s sound is not only unique in its energy, but unique in its creation. Constructed through years of hard work in the studio and memories fashioned on a number of dance floors, Kesh can safely say that his music is not only individual to himself but it sure to get a reaction from any crowd he plays to. Taking elements from UKG, 90’s House and Electro, Kesh has distinguished himself as none other then a certified party starter and in the ever-changing sound of house music, he stays true to making music that almost anyone can dance to.

His sets are also nothing to sleep on, forming journeys that span for as long as he is allowed to play. Defying genre boundaries, the only things consistent in Kesh’s sets are the high octane, high energy vibe and the growl of a 90’s influenced bassline.
