From the album liner notes:
An “Africo” crossover style typical of early 1970s Accra in the style of Osibisa and Alhaji K Frimpong. It's one of the most funky tracks on the album and features some superb harmonic and melodic touches. Thomas's lyrics are defiant: “This is my life, my turn. You can talk about all my problems and dance in my misery. But it's not going to be like that forever. You can talk all you want but things will always get better for me.”

The track features a yearning trumpet solo from another Ghanaian legend, Osei Tutu. Osei was a member of Hedzolleh Sounds and also played alongside Ebo and Pat in the Sweet Beans.

This funk oriented number by Gargar is taken off their debut CD titled Garissa Express.
Sar is a Somali mixed dance song that both men and women dance to. It is sang when  newlyweds arrive at their matrimonial home. During the dance, if one says ‘Sar’, the dancers have to clap their hands really loud.

Straight from the capital of Highlife, this is already one of our favourite albums for the year. 
'Sor' is the kind of album that remains in your cd player for the whole summer. It has everything: Afrobeat, Ghanaian highlife and a strong message.

Sor was Recorded in Accra, Ghana in December 2016 by Kyekyeku and the band 5 Days No Light Off. 
As people kept a low profile during the collation of election results (out of fear, high tensions with streets deserted), a perfect backdrop of calm and quiet had been provided from Accra's noisy streets and churches.
To our relief, in the hope of gaining votes, the ruling government had put the erratic electricity power supply on hold. Our studio located in a noisy neighbourhood with not so good isolation from all the noise had suddenly gotten a perfect situation to record and still leave the windows open(no AC).
We took the chance to cut this record of tunes largely based on themes of social shortcomings in Ghana, Africa and the world. While the tunes are largely uptempo, they also call for deep thoughts about life and strength to carry on.
Style: we were largely influenced by Ghanaian Highlife music of Alex Konadu and J.A. Adofo on tracks such as 'Africa Voodoo Party' and by Afrobeat from Ebo Taylor and Fela Kuti on tracks such as 'Goose and Gander'. Yet we attempted putting our own signature and sound on the final materials. 
The result is the album #Sor, one that brings to you our live music sound, vibes and energy which we are extremely happy to share with the world on upcoming dates. We are happy to have shared these songs at concerts at The New Morning-Paris(France), Afropolitan Festival at Bozar(Brussels), Sauti Za Busara in Zanzibar, Tanzania and Visa For Music in Rabat(Morocco). Now it is on record for your listening pleasure.

Zion (2000). Also contains sampled vocals of Apolong' and his Turkana tribes men and women recorded at the Lake Turkana Festival for the #Singingwells in #Loiyangalani, #Turkana (2011).
