“it’s been hard to listen to these tracks and make sense of them at a time of such a big void of dance floor moments. this is an attempt at (re)creating a well lubricated rave moment where everything is connected and connecting to a deeper frequency, a kind of liquid plasticity. it mirrors the overwhelming disorienting feeling of coming up, the XTC power release through relentless stomping and the post-high open hearted mindset where a smoother wider imaginary makes possible to see cracks in reality in ways that both heal and expand our ideas of togetherness and interrelation.

I thank the producers of these tracks for helping me see and hear clearly what I want for the future of raving and music itself, for the interlacing of genres and rituals, for the mastery of world building through sound and emotion, for materialising my own ineffable feeling towards sonic utopias and allowing me to live within them.”

A smattering of acid, some Chicago shit and some Belizean shit – plus some other surprises. This was such a fun mix to do and I hope everyone feels the energy!”

this mix was hard to record tbh these tracks never fail to make my body rock to the beat, impossible to stay fully focused.

this is a collection of tracks with sickening grooves, maddening percussion and haunting beauty in their melodies.
they all make me see blue 💙🩵
i’ve wanted to throw em together and try to make sense of them for a while.
it isn’t easy. they’re very busy and hard to mix, the complexity of the syncopated drums and melodies that don’t follow basic phrasing brings up quite the technical challenge. and because of this i don’t get to play them too often at the club.

so this isn’t a perfectly blended, melt-onto-each-other type of mix but a forcing of antagonistic rhythms and grooves meshing together in hopes of creating beauty within the sonic chaos. <3
