Für den aller ersten Sampler der Reihe „Love & Nature – Adventure“ haben sich besondere Künstler zusammengefunden um die Liebe zur Natur in musikalischer Form wiederzugeben.

Der Erlös dieses Samplers wird ohne Umwege der „Initiative Bienenretter“ vom Frankfurter Institut für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (FINE) zugutekommen. Dieses Bildungsprojekt lehrt nicht nur die urbane Imkerei um neuen Lebensraum für Bienen zu schaffen, sondern macht in Vorträgen auch darauf Aufmerksam dass unser Konsumverhalten die Ursache für das Bienensterben ist. Eingeschiffte Parasiten, der Einsatz von Pestiziden und Monokulturen in der Landwirtschaft begünstigen diesen Prozess, der nicht nur zum Aussterben der Bienen führen, sondern letztlich auch unser Ende bedeuten könnte. Ohne Bienen wäre ein funktionierendes Ökosystem undenkbar.

This second half of VAgabunden aims to stay connected to the organic soundscapes of the first one, while exploring new themes, sounds and feelings.

Mirror for the Sun is a 14-track cycle of tempos, moods, and hums exploring different facets of a softly solar energy. The compilation departs from the Souq’s signature sound, infusing it with a rotation of new elements. 	Niki Sadeki’s curation brings more of an uncanny Berlin-style voltage to the label’s earthy tradition, shaped by her own learned perception of deep house. 	The result is a cosmic and crunchy experimental blend, with mingling moments of downbeat drama and upbeat glow. 
When seen through a mirror, the sun’s light only reflects fragments of a fuller picture. 
Mirror for the Sun echoes this sentiment. Each track contributes an angle to an overall picture of sentience and connection. The 19 featured artists include returners 	like Zuma Dionys and MoM, and newcomers like Madmotormiquel, Geju, Landhouse Krink and Niju. ​
We couldn’t think of a more suited selector than Vancouver based Niki Sadeki	, whose vision has refracted across an impressive stream of radio shows, guest mixes, and podcasts over the years. Niki’s ability to musically embark a living-room or a car ride as much as she can a dance-floor is a quality we prize right now more than ever.
This compilation will return annually to Souq, shedding its skin and renewing itself along the way. 
Souq Records have built their identity in inviting listeners to travel across cultures, instruments and influences. This time around, the experience is more of a mind trip thana geographical one – we hope you enjoy this new phase just as much.

"For the past ten years now, I’ve celebrated my birthdays by inviting all my favorite cats to play – we started off at Kater Holzig before moving to our home at Kater Blau in 2015. For the first time since it started, and for obvious reasons, 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch won’t be happening, on what would have been the tenth anniversary of the series.

I’ve been wondering for a while now how I can make up for the missed year - streams already feel a bit outdated, and you just can’t imagine the vibe of the event without actually being there, getting beautifully lost in those days and nights, hugging old friends and making new ones. You can’t even explain that feeling, so you definitely can’t live-stream it.

Instead, this year 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch will be a compilation of some of the amazing artists from the past ten years, and even some of the new faces I would have booked this year. In a way, it’s the perfect souvenir of all the nights we’ve had so far, and an idea of what to look forward to in all the nights to come at Kater Blau somewhere in the future.

The compilation will be split into two sections: Heinz Hopper and Acidbogen, reflecting the two floors of Kater Blau, each with their own special flavor and sound. The whole record is programmed the way I would schedule the artists across the two floors for my birthday, warming up at the start before things start getting more intense later on. I guess you could say it’s a concept album, in which the audience wanders into our lovely little circus on the river Spree, and experiences one of my birthdays from start to finish, split across both floors of Kater Blau.

Much like my parties and my sets, the idea is for the listener to get lost in these tracks and to experience them as a whole piece. At the end of it all you leave with a feeling that maybe, just maybe, cats & music were the answers after all. Even in times like these."

KETOGA ist der Zirkus der Unvernunft und das Puppentheater der

Wahnsinns. Alle schönen Kuriositäten unserer Festival-Kultur, pressen wir
hier in eine gaaaanz lange Nacht!

Bei KETOGA wird mit Dekoration geklotzt und mit Prosecco
gekleckert. Plüsch und Flausch soweit das Auge reicht, Bunt ist hier das neue
Chic und wir übertreiben es ordentlich.

Die Maskerade des Alltags kann ganz einfach am Eingang abgelegt
und gegen eine Kostümierung der Nacht eingetauscht werden.
Getreu dem Motto Puckerbrot und Zeitsche bekommt jede*r was für
einen Ausflug in technoide Gefühlswelten und frivole Glitzerorgien
gebraucht wird. Mal ganz Sutsche, mal Schweiß pur, hauptsache
schön. Ungebändigte Muskiartisten*innen aus dem Universum des
Untergrunds sorgen für verschmierte Schmincke und dampfende
Manegen.

Standard ist hier ein Schimpfwort und Außnahmen gern gesehen.
Wechselnde Städte, wechselnde Clubs, immer gleiches Ergebnis…
