Somewhere in the south of France hides a festive oasis that, isolated from the world, comes to life every single year under the warm June sun. Organized since 2016 by Melifera Records, the aim of La Vallée Électrique festival is to bring together a community of artists and cultural stakeholders. For a weekend, electronic music & projections enhance the song of cicadas and the dancers the movements of nature in perfect harmony. An intimate experience in the heart of La Drôme Provençale, bringing together more than 600 electronic music enthusiasts from all over Europe for a timeless moment of nature, music, and discovery.

The 2024 edition of this festival will take place from 14 to 16 June.

This year, the line-up includes exclusive encounters with Feral & Ntogn, figureheads of Italian label Hypnus, and German duo Dycide & MTRL, representing IO Records. Clarence Rise and Café de la Jungle will also be on board, alongside some of France's finest electronic talents: Hewan Aman, Tauceti, Sindh, and many more. Throughout the day, live music and exclusive performances will take centre stage, with two showcases from rdg tribe and Polën, featuring artists such as Timnah, F-On and Javier Salazar.

An immersive, eco-designed scenography frames the event, supported by interactive installations and creative workshops to create a seamless fusion between Human, nature and technology. The project is a dream world, a utopia.

This is what Shani and Heliopora, one of the organizers of the festival, said about the mix: 
“The aim of this podcast is to take you through the different vibes of the La Vallée Électrique 2024 festival. In fact, the tracklist on this recording represents the timetable. We've carefully chosen a track from each artist to reflect the atmosphere of their set, and for those who don't produce their own music, we've selected tracks that would fit in perfectly with their forthcoming performance.”

Starting a residency at Klubd in Nicosia at the age of 23, Alex affected the electronic scene in Cyprus. Since 2013, he has been a resident at the renowned Berlin underground daytime party, STAUB—a space recognized for its sense of community and diverse electronic music offerings. Alex’s career features performances at iconic venues such as Tresor, Gare Porto, and Kantine am Berghain.
Capparis Spinosa is the imprint he founded in 2017 to present his music, including exclusive collaborations and remixes. His releases on Claudio PRC’s label “12” and the consistently dancefloor-appropriate release on Maeve exemplify the artist’s commitment to expression over confinement. The Paludose Canter EP showcases his profound and emotive dancefloor expressions traveling across various moods.

For this week's episode of "Delayed with..." Alex Tomb created a peak-time techno journey that bursts with energy, driven by thumping kick drums and sharp percussion. If you need a companion for your next workout, this mix will do the trick.

Ketoloco was born in a seven bed Victorian student house basement in Headingley. It began as an after-party, a place for 200+ ravers to continue after club nights like Back To Basics and Dirty Disco had kicked out.

“All four levels of this house became a playground for the student kids of Headingley,” says Ketoloco co-founder Chris Halliday. The seven-strong crew – formed of DJs, producers and, as Halliday describes, ‘Leeds’ friendliest bouncer’ – all met in Ibiza. On their return in the summer of 2006 they aimed to replicate the hedonism found on the White Isle in their Yorkshire home.

They gutted their basement, painted the walls red in homage to DC10 and installed a makeshift DJ booth. Soon after, producers like 20/20 Vision boss Ralph Lawson and Paul Woolford were dropping in to play at Ketoloco after their sets in the city. “You feel like you have freedom and you can do what you want at a house party. They’re audacious, and that’s a bit infectious. People just go wild.”

But March 2007 could have signalled their end. In the early hours of a Sunday morning they heard a noise, quickly followed by a firm kick and around 70 police officers rushing in to see what was happening inside. What the police were introduced to, however, was much different to their usual bust. “Someone was dressed as a vicar, someone else a devil, and everyone else immediately put their hands on their heads in the hallway.” The party ended there and then, cautions were handed out and all of their equipment was seized. “If they wanted to come in they could have just knocked,” said Halliday, in a MySpace message to their followers at the time.

But the party must go on, and where there’s a will there’s always a way. "After the bust Back To Basics's founder Dave Beer offered Ketoloco a monthly residency at his club and we jumped at the chance. That was a turning point for us and loads more sensible and 'fully legal' gigs followed."

17 years later, with several birthday events pencilled in for later this year, Ketoloco are still going strong.

Having grown up in a music oriented culture and family, surrounded by Persian instruments, Pedram found his musical roots in 70's Disco, Jazz, Psychedelia, Progressive and Deep House. As Deeve, he’s into any kind of atmospheric, deep music. His productions, remixes and sets range from Ambient to Downtempo, House, Breaks and groovy shades of Dub Techno. His monthly show ‚Temptations‘ showcases tracks from these various styles, creating journeys to relax, switch off, dance or dream.
