Recording, Mixed and Treated for two exhibitions at Sheffield’s Festival Of The Mind. 

Parts 1 and 1.1 are for unique audio-visual exhibition that recreates the dawn chorus that we did with photographer Shaun Bloodworth. The video will be released shortly. 

Parts 2 and 2.1 are perfect loops used on a speaker system as people walking through the gallery. 

Background 
Have you noticed we don’t hear the dawn chorus anymore? Techno legends The Black Dog have recreated it, using recordings of birds, with visuals by Shaun Bloodworth. The science behind the exhibition, supplied by bird expert Professor Tim Birkhead, is disturbing: Britain’s bird population is in decline. 

Tim Birkhead is an award-winning educator, researcher and author of several books on bird behaviour. Ambient techno pioneers The Black Dog are among the defining voices of the Warp generation. World-class photographer and filmmaker Shaun Bloodworth is a prolific documenter of the international dance music scene.

Faitiche is delighted to present a long-lost vinyl album: for the last 14 years, Jan Jelinek's Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records, originally released in 2001 on ~scape, existed only as a download. Now the album is available again on vinyl, as a double LP with two bonus tracks (B-sides from the Tendency EP, 2000).

Hell yes! Dutch maestro Reimer Eising returns with a new lesson in high class braindance electronica for Analogical Force. Just one year on from the inspiring ‘Wingtip’ album on Clone Records and many (like us) have been looking forward to his new stuff, now the wait is over. 

‘Alacasa’, the result of months of work, sees Reimer delving into his unique world of delicate drum patterns, kaleidoscopic synths, 4/4 beats and breaks, acid-tinged melodies, ghostly pads…blah blah blah… Kettel has presented us with all of these things before but never with such immaculate care and attention to detail, production and pacing. He has never sounded better and fresher than this.

The EP includes a dreamy and evocative remix from Swedish hero Rolando Simmons, pure bliss to get lost in.  No more words are needed, you know what to do.

I have been making purely percussive tracks recently for my upcoming album, so for this track I wanted to have an emotive melodic element as well.
