I wrote this song for my mom, who has always reassured me that no matter how difficult life might get, You always have to enjoy the wild, crazy, and exciting journey that life truly is. She instilled a comfort in me, that helped me to fear nothing, She always says "Life is just a rollercoaster ride, you gotta take the ups and the downs, and have fun the entire time". This has been the basis for how I deal with many trials in my life, and I'm so happy to put this into words for her.

I wrote this song because I was feeling the pressure from the outside world to change myself. All my life I never fit in, but I never stopped trying to be my genuine self during these times. I feel we are constantly judged and made to feel bad when we want to express ourselves in certain ways, if that means your style, or the way you carry yourself, If you do not conform to standards, you are likely to be misunderstood, or even worse, hated for it. This song in the album means much more to me than a metaphor, It puts into words how I feel when I am stripped of my style, fashion and ideals, in order to fit into this world. and that caused some anger and questioning that I had to get out in this song. I hope you enjoy it.

Barrels on me is a song I wrote about my father. I wanted to write a song for him because he is the reason I got into music in the first place. He has dedicated his life to Music, Family and Career and gave me hope that you never have to stop dreaming, and NEVER have to stop creating. The barrel in the song represents the weight and pressure that most young people feel from their parents and family, There is always this pressure to be "different" from your parents and to change the world when you are growing up, and I feel like that same pressure can also cause lots of stress as well. This song was my way of telling my father that I would try my best to uphold his ideals, His Music, and his soul, and sort of move that pressure he has felt his entire life onto myself. I tell him that I am no longer just the small child he and my mother have raised, but I am now also a man that is aware of the world, and I can now recognize just how difficult it must have been for my father to achieve all he has achieved in his life, and I can understand more of how he became the man he is today. I give credit to my Mother for bringing love and magic into his logical, and strong upbringing. And the song in itself, it truly a way for me to express this to my parents in a way that is often difficult without music. It is a celebration of knowing yourself, Enjoying the magic of music, success and love, while also never forgetting where you come from, and who shaped your ideals. This is a song about a Son's love for his father (much like how "The Rollercoaster" is a celebration of my mother)and using the ukulele to express that only brings more cheer to a serious, but enjoyable subject.
