Art piece in response to BBC Radio 6, Mary Anne Hobbs' show Art Is Everywhere.  Made during the show on Sunday 01/12/13 using samples from the show and samples made while the show was playing in the background.
 
Total time of sampling, creating, bouncing, mixing, uploading to Soundcloud, Tweeting the track and emailing it over to BBC Radio6 was less than 2 hours.

Secret Momentum 

A preliminary sound sketch by artist Rosanne Robertson as part of the The Last Case of George Cecil Ives (1867 – 1950) - a project by artist Jez Dolan. 

As part of the project Rosanne Robertson has been commissioned to make a new sound installation. This piece is a short sound piece made of a collage of recordings of various structure borne sounds aiming to give life to a fictional interior inspired by the research and archives related to the project. The sounds reminiscent of shuffling, small movements in personal space, of working and writing are giving momentum to something secretive- a feeling that something is happening under the surface. This gives the feel for the palette of sounds being used for the over all sound installation at the end of the project.

Sound sources include various wooden and metal surfaces, wooden boxes, chair, clock chime mechanism, pencil & paper and small motors on surfaces.

Let Her Go

Gramophonica involves live gramophone glitching, manually maintained looping and mechanical beat making and matching by playing re-appropriated 78rpm records on a wind-up gramophone. This form of gramophone turntablism reinvents the uses of obsolete mechanical musical hardware.

I have been using and developing my craft of extracting unexpected sounds from existing music from 78rpm records using tactile techniques. These include cutting electrical tape and applying it in radiating strips to records to create additional tactile layers that create unexpected percussive discordances, harmonies as the steel needle staggers or glides across the discreetly undulating strips of electrical tape. 

Gramophonica shows the potential to transform sounds from a specific era (1920s-1950s) to sounds that sound post contemporaneous, like Detroit House Music and Ambient Techno.

'Wonder Women - Whose Festival is it Anyway?' Was a conversation, discussion and debate held at Manchester Central Library, Manchester, 11 March 2017.

As the 2017 Wonder Women festival drew to a close, Digital Women’s Archive North [DWAN] and Instigate Arts brought together 2017’s contributing artists, producers, curators and groups for a lively and provocative panel discussion asking if feminist festivals are an act of disruptive activism in their own right, raising consciousness and introducing young activists to key moments in the history of their own movements and causes?

It looked forward to 2018 and set out a bold vision for how Wonder Women might grow to become a fitting Manchester tribute to the 100 year anniversary of the first votes for women, and also questioned who is Wonder Women for?, and who should organise and run Wonder Women when it is primarily a festival made up through the hard work and efforts of many individual producers and groups of producers, many working for little or no fee. How might the city of suffragettes live up to the legacy of those original disruptive activists; capture public attention and support creative practitioners with a feminist ethos?
The event brought up some very interesting ideas and opinions and proved very informative regarding how different people have experienced the Wonder Women festival so far.

Within your own tomb, you	awake amongst their sleeping souls. 
       This 	immersive soundscape will place you deep within the landscape of all saints park, taking you on a personal journey where you will feel the presences of the 16000 bodies that were laid to rest in Grosvenor Square.

The soundscape was made to be listen to on headphones.

The music I write is varied and unrestricted by genre or form.  The sounds I make usually hold some compositional thread but it is not a necessity.

I'm very interested in social reform and promotion of artistic productivity with or without academic training.

Self-education has led me to produce very satisfying work, and the awareness of self-potential is a really exciting concept for me.
