Erika (Interdimensional Transmissions)

デトロイト在住の女性アーティスト、1997年にデトロイトのアンダーグラウンドユニットEctomorphに参加。
その後、地元デトロイトでDJ活動を勢力的におこない、2013年に彼女のデビューアルバム「Hexagon Cloud」をリリース。また同年デトロイトの権威のあるフェスティバル「Movement」でLIVE SETを披露した。

-機材は何を使用されたか覚えていますか？

2台のCDJとターンテーブル、、、ミキサーは覚えていないわ。
私のDJセットはほとんどがヴァイナルだわ、たまにダウンロードやアンリリースをCDJで使ったりします。


-このミックスのコンセプトを教えて下さい。

部屋をテクノやアシッドサウンドで黒く塗りつぶすような感じかな。


-最近の活動を教えて下さい

私はちょうど新曲のレコーディングの途中です。これは5月のデトロイトのMovement FestivalのLIVEで作ったもので今年の秋冬にHexagon Cloudに続くEPになる予定です。あと今は次のLIVEにむけて新しい機材を導入しようとしているの。秋のヨーロッパツアーに向けてね。だから夏はデトロイトでセットアップのテストをしていくつもりです。

A quick set of soundclips I put together, to demo the sound of the new Moog Mother 32 Semi-Modular Analog Synthesizer. This is only using a single Moog Mother 32, Strymon Big Sky for reverb, and a Eventide Timefactor for delay. No compression, EQ, or mastering of any kind. During most of the tracks, I remove the FX at one point or another so you can hear the sounds of the Mother 32 as she is.

Integrating a pair of Mother-32 semi-modular synthesizers with her eurorack case, electronic musician Bana Haffar programs an evolving analog soundscape that contrasts heavyweight power against delicate precision, showcasing the broad emotional range that can be expressed using the simple yet well-chosen circuits of the Mother-32.  

The pair of Mother-32 eurorack compatible synthesizers generate the sonics for this piece with additional modulation and control opportunities made possible by each unit's 32-point patch bay, bridging the electronic connection to the external modules.  For this patch, a Make Noise Rene sequences the Mothers' analog voices while a 4ms QCD supplies the Master Clock signal.  External reverb and an MF-104M analog delay contribute depth and space to the patch.

In this short improvisation, Detroit-based electronic artist, Erika, composes a celestial passage using a pair of Mother-32 analog synthesizers. An external reverb unit is used to add an astral quality to the patch.
