When I called my friend Walter Ricci to collab on some music , my first goal was to go “back to music” , back to played instruments , real bass guitar , real emotions ! The song was born when we were chilling in the
studio, playing music from artists like Coltrane, Jamiroquai, and Incognito, and this is what we came up with. 
“Head on my shoulder” deserved also an amazing artwork made by the legend Riccardo Ferrara that translates the feelings of the song into an illustration!

Damian Lazarus presents the sixth volume of his Crosstown Rebels SPIRITS compilation series, boasting an impressive lineup of Lauren Lane, Cristina Lazic, AJ Christou, TMPLE and more.

Since its debut in 2017, Damian Lazarus’ annual ‘SPIRITS’ series on Crosstown Rebels has been a beacon for breakthrough artists, setting the label’s agenda for the year ahead. The sixth instalment in February is another meticulously curated lineup with ‘SPIRITS VI’ featuring a blend of new and recognisable talents, including Lauren Lane, Cristina Lazic, Iñigo Vontier, AJ Christou and many more.

London-based talent Cameron Jack kicks off what looks set to be a breakout year with ‘The Vision’, a bubbly and tropical cut with cosmic synths and loose, jumbled rhythms. Chris Bowl then brings his emotional style to the deep, rolling beats and fresh melodies of ‘Silent Plain’, while NY-born, LA-based house tastemaker Lauren Lane layers in smoky pads and tender whispers to her sublime deep house cut, ‘Fair Game.’ Next, German talent and Degree Records head Marc Lenz brings darker vibes to his track ‘People Are People’, while Rebellion artist Cristina Lazic and previous Lazarus collaborator Leia Contois combine for the alluring vocal soul and gritty minimal drums of ‘So Deep’.

Mexican Iñigo Vontier is a pioneer in his homeland after crafting a global reputation, and his twisted synths, shiny textures and steely drums on ‘That Trippy Sound’ prove why as they work you into a trance. Next is influential Manchester-based DJ/producer AJ Christou, who has released on the likes of Hot Creations and Cuttin’ Headz. His track ‘Back & Forth’ brings an infectious groove with plenty of flair and catchy drum funk, before TMPLE shuts things down with the deft, airy grooves and floating bass of ‘The Girl In The Room’, complete with its tender male vocals.

At the forefront of electronic innovation, Crosstown Rebels stands as a pivotal platform and record label, reflecting the genre’s diversity and housing an impressive roster that includes renowned artists and household names like Art Department, Maceo Plex, and Jamie Jones. With sub-labels Rebellion and Secret Teachings in tow, the imprint consistently and continuously expands its musical canvas, creating an immersive landscape for leading and emerging talents to thrive.

Dolce Far Niente [CECILLE RECORDS]

Late last summer, one track dominated the sets of Marco Carola at Music On and beyond. That track was Charles Pierre's 'Moonlight To Sunrise' and we are delighted to deliver to you this masterpiece that's backed with a heavyweight remix from super producer Yousef and Dutch groove maestro Rob Stillekens.

Lead track 'Moonlight To Sunrise' is a unique slice of modern day house music with its grooving, funk laden intro and atmospheric percussion droplets, bouncing around the 70s-esque filtered bassline. Merge this with Charles' own special vocal delivery and what you have here will be one of this year's stand-out tracks.

The first of two sublime remixes comes from Liverpool's legendary DJ/Producer Yousef. Here Yos rips the storybook up and transforms the original into a peak time banger, with elasticated rises that utilise Charles' vocal delivery around a crescendo of uplifts and hedonistic rhythms that, on the drop, explode with typical Yousef brilliance. This one will go beyond the big rooms to festival stages. We are sure of that.

Next up, Dutch producer Rob Stillekens shows why he's on the radar of the big labels by delivering a punchy, groove-based remix that perfectly fits itself around the vocal with its driving bass lead and cleverly placed drops and rises. A superb addition to the package from Rob.

Closing out the EP, Charles drops 'Feel This Way', a proper party starter of a track with its Disco edges and filtered loops, combining in harmony with the feel good vibe and almost spoken word vocal. A perfect closer for what will be one of the standout EP's at this year's MMW and beyond.

Franky Rizardo takes the reigns on an outstanding Remix of Charles Pierre's 'Moonlight To Sunrise'. Late last summer, we sent out the Original to a selected handful of DJ's. Franky was one of those who received it, and it quickly became his go-to track for those big moments. 

We were absolutely delighted when he reached out and asked for the parts to put his twist on the incredible Original. 

Now, after it being one of the most sought after remixes on the scene, we deliver it to you in time for those summer sessions.

Franky sprinkles his own unique soundscapes to the mix, taking it a more house feel but retaining the essence of the original with the vocals playing a big part. It's good that Marco has been closing his sets with it!

Lapsus Music label heads Supernova come next with a superb new EP Life is a Disco featuring a brace of brilliant house cuts.

Supernova are Emiliano Nencioni and Giacomo Godi, an Italian DJ and production duo that have over the last decade made the transition from rising stars to scene legends. They have mastered a wide range of styles with equal class and now once again come through with a standout new offering.

Life is a Disco goes first with the standout vocals of the legendary Mr V. His tender tones deliver in a hushed style that lends the cut real soul, while the lively drums bring disco energy and colour to house music energy. Art on the Road is a more stripped back house sound with smooth chords and icy percussion. It's heady and peppered with a touch of tribal style for those worldly dance floor moments.

These are two brilliant new cuts from this vital duo.
