Techno? Vol 2. "The Headliner"

This mix is a concept, inspired by the mixtapes I used to make on my old dual cassette deck for friends. Each one was personal, a collections of songs stitched together to capture a moment in time. Now the moment I need to capture is my own. Music has always been my vessel for me, and right now I’m moving through a personal transformation. Each track here, both sonically and lyrically, speaks to that journey that I'm on. Endings, beginnings, uncertainty, and the beauty of transition.

Shifting Frequencies is more than a playlist. It's kind of like a mixtape mashed with a DJ set. It’s a personal soundtrack to transformation, meant to be played, shared, and maybe even rewound. I hope you enjoy it.

Shifting Frequencies // An unusual mixtape by Kevin Legere

I began my musical journey as a guitarist in various punk bands in the 90s, before transitioning to the world of techno in 2001. As a DJ, I quickly made my mark, playing regularly at Hush nightclub and some of the Vancouver Island's premier parties.

In 2005, I expanded my musical horizons by forming a live electronic band called Death to Sexy. Our music gained significant recognition, with features on Much Music and performances at notable festivals such as VEMF and North by Northwest.

Over the years, I've engaged in various music projects, including composing scores for dance performances in collaboration with the Plastic Orchid Factory in Vancouver. Currently, I produce techno with Mike Arensen under the name Warehouse Party, and I've rekindled my passion for DJing.
