I used only the percussion track as a template for the entire work, re-harmonized and replayed the original melody over the first half with a spaghetti-western-spy type of vibe, and then wrote a new melody over the harmonic changes of the second section.  I played guitars, saxophones, zither, gong, flutes, clarinet, bass, melodica, additional percussion, a sine wave generator for sub bass, and used sampled sounds to play in the strings and horns.
