and Gordon Downie showed the way

We said goodbye last summer

He spoke with grace and showed us Courage
fighting every night up there for us
The energy and manic moves
nothing really left to prove

and gave us all he had to give
Through one last tour Gord led the pack
He loved us all…we loved him back

Shiny suits and feathered hats
Gord was so much more than that

made us dance, and cry, and scream
