Now there really isn’t anything radically wrong with being sick or with dying. Who said you’re supposed to survive? Who gave you the idea that it’s a gas to go on and on and on? And we can’t say that it’s a good thing for everything to go on living. In a very simple demonstration that if we enable everybody to go on living, we overcrowd ourselves.
So therefore, one person who dies in a way is honorable because he’s making room for others… 
We can also look further into and see that if our death could be indefinitely postponed, we would not actually go on postponing it indefinitely because after a certain point we would realize that isn’t the way in which we wanted to survive.
Why else would we have children? Because children arrange for us to survive in another way, by as it were, passing on a torch, so that you don’t have to carry it all the time. There comes a point where you can give it up and say; “now you work”.
It’s a far more amusing arrangement for nature to continue the process of life through different individuals then it is always with the same individual, because as each new individual approaches life is renewed. And one remembers how fascinating the most ordinary everyday things are to a child, because they see them all as marvelous – because they see them all in a way that is not related to survival and profit.
When we get to thinking of everything in terms of survival and profit value, as we do, then the shapes of scratches on the floor cease to have magic. And most things, in fact, cease to have magic.
So therefore, in the course of nature, once we have ceased to see magic in the world anymore, we are no longer fulfilling nature’s game of being aware of it.
There’s no point in it any longer. And so we die. And, so something else comes to birth, which gets an entirely new view. 
It is not, therefore, natural for us to wish to prolong life indefinitely. But we live in a culture where it has been rubbed into us in every conceivable way that to die is a terrible thing. And that is a tremendous disease from which our culture, in particular, suffers.. ~Alan Watts

After listening to the deep and melancholic melodies of Oceanvs Orientalis - real name Safak Ozkutle - it’s clear he’s a man of many influences. Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, Safak was inspired at an early age after being exposed to a variety of oriental selections by his mother, including Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and Armenian music. Now he expands upon those motifs with steady, hypnotic rhythms that have taken him around the world, performing at Burning Man, Output, Fusion Festival and Kindish Showcase among others. The overall aesthetic of his material plays off his motto, “tunes are not in a hurry,” a message that urges listeners to slow down and take in the mesmerizing soundscapes he delivers.

Oceanvs Orientalis' third EP "General Tales of Ordinary Madness".
 
All tracks of the EP are accompanied by Idil Meşe's soft as summer rain vocals and lyrics rhyming on stories of streets.
 
The EP will be released under Kanto Records label, the newly established contemporary platform focused primarily on experimental music and the arts, founded by Oceanvs Orientalis himself.
 
Featuring many esteemed musicians such as Ilhan Ersahin, Idil Mese, Hasan Gozetlik and Ali Ceyhun Kartalsuna, "General Tales of Ordinary Madness" EP consists four tracks, recorded over a year in New York and Istanbul.

When we picked it up again in our studios we went on a strange tangent that initially didn’t seem to make sense. But slowly it unfolded into a song that wanted to be about letting go, about new horizons and great memories. And hints of jazzy disco, which of course as you know is a staple of the Noisia and Upbeats sound since time immemorial, umm right, please listen to our weird song.”

THE STORY
EX NIHILO (Latin. Out Of Nothing) Is the first thematic album of Oceanvs Orientalis; which tells 10 different stories of 10 breaking points of the Universal history. From the Planetary scale to the Human dimension. 
The story begins with the song of the Big Bang (EX NIHILO)and continues with focusing on the first formation of the Solar System (Birth of the Sun),
The Earth (THE EARTH SONG) and the story of Homo Sapiens (AQUATIC APE) and so on.
 
THE ALBUM
The album contains 10 original tracks. 
Recording of the album took 1 year of field recording and experimental audio synthesis. Each song of the album created for a specific dedicated event.

THE FILM
The Film created by 10 different artists under the creative direction of Elif Demirci aka Datafobik. In the first step each artist imagine and create each video separately then each other.
Afterwards it combined as one individual audio reacted visual experience.
Also for the 4th music video the song called “Plankton Planet”, we collaborate with the Plankton Chronicles: An art and science project based in Montreal, Canada. The video made by 3 minutes of unseen plankton footage recorded by Plankton
