I heard her well this time 
I'm struck the way dawn sun strikes 

In all of this ceaseless efficiency 
how do I step into her stream 
To wade in her light 
To be like ripples on water 
An echo through the valley 

She walks lightly yet still each step is heard 
This reverberating through here out 

Take me to the lake from which I was raised 
In quaint foothills 
Not even in the endless Rocky Mountains 

I'll hear a familiar bird sing in a familiar tree; 
a chickadee in a sugarbush
and I'll remember that I have arrived

Not much traveling in 2020 but this song came about by remembering past adventures. Chris Haines on guitar, bass, midi pianos, vocals and piece of aluminum scrap metal. The drummer and other percussionists live in my computer.
