BIO - Mike McClure aka Autokinetic has been performing live electronic music since 1992. Coming up alongside local legends like Freddy Fresh, Woody McBride, Paul Birken, DJ Slip, and DVS1, his approach to electronic music is unmistakably informed by his long involvement in Minneapolis electronic music culture. 

Earlier in his career, Autokinetic produced hard, 909-driven acid and now focuses on deeper, more spacious grooves. His full-hardware live performances have an unmistakable after-hours feel that is true to his roots. Live performance highlights include Loveparade, Fabrik, Even Furthur '96, Communion, and First Avenue. McClure also records and performs live as AutoClub with Craig Lambert (Midnight Music Club). You can find his music on Electric Music Foundation, Serotonin, Trope Recordings, and Music Man, as well as a record label co-managed with Freddy Fresh, Analog Records USA.

Bio - With a penchant for rhythm, Berndt (first name Jordan) has been obsessed with percussion from an early age.  Originally from a small town in North Dakota, Jordan began making beats in his teens and took up DJing shortly after. Berndt has a dance-floor-first mindset and brings a certain smoothness that seems to fit anywhere. In 2015, he co-founded Kajunga Records with Ryote, Cloudy Kid, and Private Guy. Together, they’ve been releasing music and throwing one-off parties around the Twin Cities area ever since. Berndt is also co-founder of the label Clave House, which hosts an annual daytime party in Detroit over Memorial weekend called Elixir.

Berndt (DJ set)@Future Classic Redbull Radio

Bio - Born in Suburban Chicagoland and raised in Northwest Wisconsin, Steve Seuling (a.k.a. Centrific) anchored himself in Minneapolis since 1993. In a mostly-hidden, yet vibrantly evolving underground scene, Seuling started attending, curating, and DJing events in the mid-1990s. Underscoring his commitment for the Twin Cities’ massive bass bins, Seuling then in March of 1998 founded “Intellephunk”, his brand of parties that began at the now-shuttered Rockler Fur Building, drawing inspiration from those of his contemporaries (Woody McBride’s “Electric Disko”, Drop Bass Network’s Even Furthur). Centrific throws a weekly summer party called “Communion”, founded in 2007 alongside fellow Midwest native Dustin Zahn. Communion is an inclusive open-air day party, focusing on the psychedelic side of house and techno. Most recently, Centrific created an online Twitch stream entitled “Distant Future”, a platform where he invites local and international DJs to showcase their music and chat about their ideas for the future of the rave scene.  His dedication to preserving and protecting the local roots of the dance music community shows that, in many ways, he’s the lifeblood of Midwest techno.

Steve’s contributions and continued loyalty to Minneapolis is immense and self-evident. He embodies a fatherly role in both his day-to-day life and artistic practice. Seuling is grounded and approachable; a speaker-freaker with a wry sense of humor and an openness to connect with new and old friends. His DJ style explores a direct lineage to pummeling, aggressive Midwest techno and house, mixing with pointillist sonic precision that permeates his approach to his musical eclecticism. Centrific veers away from musical boundaries and expectations, while pushing further and further into that psychedelic headspace one can only call “the groove”.

BIO - Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Ross Hutchens aka Lonefront became established as a producer and live PA artist through regular performances at Intellephunk events in Minneapolis. Lonefront represents the cultivation of a deep mnemonic nod, ever-flickering between the speculative future of progress and the drone of decay. Following up the self-released Gradient Descent (2020), Lonefront is set to release on Dustin Zahn’s Enemy Records in 2021.

Bio - Late night / early morning sets have been Niki Kitz’s forte ever since the beginning of her music career. She cut her teeth hosting and DJing at unconventional late night events with the Foshizzle Family in Madison, WI and she continued down this rabbit hole with a relocation to Milwaukee. There she joined the Apart artist collective and co-founded Plush Works, a DIY music space and after hours venue. With a whimsical yet powerful style, she has left her mark across the Midwest, from warehouses in Chicago, to Movement after-parties in Detroit, to open air psytrance festivals in Missouri and many dance floors in between. Since moving to Minneapolis in 2017, she’s established herself as a household name within the underground community, playing notable sets at SYSTEM and Intellephunk parties. She also produces ambient and experimental music under her Kiisu moniker and recently released her first full length album, “Mother of Dirt,” on the Portland-based label, Disposable Commodities.

This exclusive set is by DJane MARCIANA aka Back to Mars, showcasing the music style she is fully into right now, having had great gigs playing it last summer like the Swamp of MoDem. Marciana is a DJ project from Marcia, a Brazilian based in The Netherlands, who is also known as Back to Mars. Having started her journey as DJ Back to Mars in 2001, she soon was also playing sets in more styles. It became a natural development to have a separate project to represent these styles and Marciana was created. Marciana has played at parties and festivals around Europe like the Pumpui stage of O.Z.O.R.A. Festival in Hungary, Hadra Festival in France, MoDem Festival in Croatia, Psycristrance in Mexico, Own Spirit Festival in Spain, Free Earth Festival in Greece, Transition Festival in Spain, Gaggalacka Festival in Germany, Club Charlotte in Germany; and Sassafras, Bevrijdings Festival, Green Vibrations Festival and Psy-Fi Festival in Holland. Also a producer, her tracks have been released on Electric Power Pole Records and directly on her Bandcamp page. Marciana's drive is to inspire people, and her sets are a mix of energies between her, the public and the sound, creating a musical story on the spot.

Last year I was on the Sunday night, full of stars, in between Function and Alessandro Cortini. With a 3 hour slot, I had the chance to dive deep and do what I wanted.
