"Flying monkeys" (qv) is a term originating from The Wizard of Oz that describes people who act as enablers, messengers, tools, or agents for a narcissist or abusive person. These individuals carry out the abuser's wishes, which often involve spreading lies and half truths, gossiping, manipulating, or gaslighting the victim to maintain control and uphold the abuser's false reality. 

Flying monkeys can be friends, family, or associates who, consciously or unconsciously, enable the abuser's behavior and harm their target whilst shifting the focus away from their chameleon selves. With ever changing and often contradictory untruths the abuser will make out that the target is the villain in an ongoing soap opera that will make those involved believe they are justified in the target's persecution, whilst avoiding a direct confrontation themselves. 

But - wear it as a badge of honour if you are targeted - when those so cowardly have to raise an army to bring you down, who holds the real power? What are they so desperately trying to hide?

No one can hurt another without leaving scars on their own soul. Truth never disappears, it just hides in silence.... but what is buried only sleeps.
