But corruption, was pollution,

I remember I was 7, wishin I was 11,
Now im 20 wishin I could go back to just bein 7,

Taught to blow all our money and never help those in need,
What ever happened to all of the innocence,
Now were making all these dollars, but none of its makin sense,
Remember my mentality when I was just a kid,
Thought I was in a box so I had to open the lid,
I had no Idea the kind of horrors that I would find,
Now im lookin for this button, just wishin I could rewind,


I remember when my worst problem was a paper cut,
Now im sittin here hopin I can make my paper-cut
Through this laundry list of problems that developed,
Its just part of growing up, you start to feel enveloped, 
Like your livin in a cage, you’re digging your own graves,
Hate everything you’ve become, so you’re missing the old days
But when you’re thinkin bout the past you aint lookin at the future 
And they keep your mind clouded with money and Kama Sutra,
Your credit is a mess, now how you s’pose to progress,
Your not, that’s the point of them keepin your life stressed,
Now your sittin there, tryin to figure out who to blame
Then you finally blame yourself, cuz you didn’t know its game,
The government is the king, and all of us are the pawns,
Your just tryin to ketchup, so you muster the coupons,
You don’t even understand, I guess ill try to tell ya
They’re controlling your lives, with the lies they try to sell ya

So were old now, living nighmares,
Digging hovels in their stratosphere,
Look what we gave up, when we grew up,
Wheres the kid with the castle in the air?


What happened to invention, what happened to the vision,
We used to be teachin lessons, and now we’re just told to listen,
To the sell outs and the puppets, that make it up on the screen,
They instill in us our morals, and tell us what to believe,
With everything that I’ve heard, everything that I’ve seen,
Lost a homie to the drugs that the government said he needs,
Droppin to my knees, askin God to intervene,
Pray I live a different movie, ending with a better scene,
What am I s’pose to do, what am I s’pose to say,
I’ve been given this gift, is there a role im s’pose to play,
I don’t know if there is, Im just wishin I was that kid,
Livin free without a care, before I opened the lid,
But now that I did, theres this life that I gotta live,
Put my heart in every track, cuz its all that I have to give
now im droppin knowledge, from the mind of a college kid
And Ill keep spittin truth till you choose to acknowledge it
