After I tried multiple times to record vocals today on the latest release of THE TRAP ARTIST I realized that it would be nearly impossible as I left no headroom for the vocals.  Going back to the book I should have added the vocals closer to the front of the mix.  Anyhow, I went back in time to one of my first recordings of this song to start over.  As I mixed each instrument and added elements to try to create dimensionality to prevent conflicting frequencies I ended up creating an instrumental song that I believe stands on its own.  I intended for this to be the base for the vocals but sometimes things don't turn out as planned.  It sounds pretty cool on nice speakers but have not done my due diligence.  Onwards and Upwards

I rearranged the original, added envelopes, send all instruments through sends, (generally mixed it more), and added some Lyrics.  I'm not sure if I like the lyrics but I think everything else is close to where I want it.  I believe a Final Version will be here soon and then I will learn to Master. The first thing you should know about my music is that most of the tracks do not fit nicely into any specific genre. The rap songs have electronic and rock influences with plenty of bass distortion which oftentimes causes me to split my vocals into 3 tracks with a center and 2 panned in order to add effects that meld in but allow the dry to remain intelligible. The reason I do this is so they almost play more like a syth that sits on top of the music vs something that stands apart from it. I know this is unusual and not something mainstream but I hope that as you listen to my stuff you love it.

Right now I'm creating music from all genres as well as going back and remixing/mastering previous tracks I've released on SoundClound but haven't finished. I see no reason to corner myself creatively into a box just because marketing, branding, and advertising says I should. I'd rather experiment with new design, arrangements, sounds, etc to see how I can push the envelope. I hold nothing back in my songs. I will say whatever I feel like that song needs to say and do it knowing it is merely an expression or reflection of what I was trying to capture at the moment, whether a tribute to an old school style or a hybrid mix of unique styles. My influences include, 90s Rock, Grunge, Metal, Rap, H-town Rap, R&B, 80s music, EDM, Country, John Mayer, Incubus, Mars Volta, Paul Wall, Chamillionair, Trillville, 50, Eminem, Nirvana, AIC, Slipknot, Skrillex, Chainsmokers, etc

When you listen to my music, what you're hearing is the final composition of idea's that began in my mind and grew as I began orchestrating them.  I want people to hear the songs that I hear in my own mind in the exact way that I hear them.   Essentially a form a telepathy if you think about it.  What this means is that I must take full control of every aspect of the process from start to finish.  I write each instrumental component individually using MIDI for each section other than the Guitar and Vocals where I record in audio.  I will sometimes use loops, samples, or clips but it's relatively rare, and usually if I do, I will actually convert it to MIDI and modify it or I will tweak the audio using sound design to get to where I'm wanting to go.   It takes A LOT of time and most of the stuff I do is only about 85% done.  I also do the production, mixing, and mastering in house using Ableton Live as well.  The key takeaway here is that what I create, however crazy, is authentic and human.  The whole reason I spent the time to teach myself everything I have learned, was for the purpose of communicating the songs I hear to other people so that they can hear it the way that I do.   As such,  I will never use AI in my music becuase it would really defeat the entire purpose.  The truth is, I have fun doing this and I hope I can bring some joy to the world through my vibes!
