I wrote this song in 1984, and recorded this version in 1988. I'm considering re-doing it because I added another verse and it needs updating.  I WANT THIS PLAYED AT MY FUNERAL when they scatter my ashes on the Gulf. This song came from my soul, and it still resonates some 30 years after the fact. If ever there was a time n human istory we need to love and understand others, it's now....

LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING (1988 version)

I recorded this song around 15 years ago. Co-wrote it with a dear talented friend from Florida, Curt Oxford. It has reached the #1 spot on the N1M charts 3 separate times. I get responses all the time about this number. It's been an awesome way to share the Gospel with new fans from all over the world.

I wrote this song back when I was struggling with loneliness and despair. I had a drug monkey on my back, and was living in my studio on Music Row in Nashville. Dark and strange days indeed. I was among the "night people". Long story there...
However I found great solace and peace in my times of prayer. That was one thing I always clung to: my contact with God. This song came to in those times. I recorded it right after I wrote it. I tear up every time I hear it. I trust someone somewhere will hear it, and they be touched as I was when I wrote it. Hopefully it will serve as a beacon of light to someone...

EVER PRESENT FRIEND

Song written by one of my clients, James Britt. Had fun with this one....a cross between Orbison and the Eagles. You don't hear many of these kind of songs on the radio. But should. Yet another reason why I'm getting away from the Nashville music system.
I got the inspiration in production from Gary Allen's "Smoke Rings In The Dark".
