Echelon takes you on a trip into the core of subterranean techno. Starting in the ominous vacuum of ambient, Intact Code transitions to droning house, to finally arrive at the nerve-wrecking rhythms for which the pioneer is known for.

The journey of Intact Code is conspicuous, while its destination is clear.

Having his roots in the 90s, the Dutchman Jeroen Search is a veteran in the underground electronic-music scene. As an inspiration for artists along the full spec­trum, he is a delicacy for techno connoisseurs. Jeroen is recognized for his progressive consistency, but always crossing the front lines of musical inventionality. Within his Echelon alias he pushes his experimental boundaries by mixing satellite sensor data from outer space with his trademark of uncompromising techno. Together with Amsterdam based Lazy Reflex Complex, Jeroen Search releases an album honoring his legacy while surprising his audience with vibrations from other galaxies.

With Dwellers, language and symbolism run deep as CAIV, a new collaboration from Israel Vines and Camille Altay, challenges listeners to embrace the ambiguity of existence, and accept incongruity as a vital part of the whole.

CAIV was borne of the partnership initiated on Israel Vines’ 2021 track, Keeping, and Dwellers delves into the realms of sound, semiotics, and half-obscured meanings, starting with the word-association from the pair’s chosen moniker that led to the EP’s title.
As Vines explains, “CAIV is obviously our initials combined, and we both liked the "cave" references that it brought to mind - digging, exploring, existing pre-modernity and continuing underground through the ages.”

"Leaves(Quelza Reinterpretation)" comes off the new remix EP of the artist's previous release, Is The Tree Dead?, forthcoming on LowEnd. Reinterpreted by a handful of established and emerging names in the techno scene, four artists present captivating takes and stylistic approaches to the originals ‘Concrete Cracks’ and ‘Leaves’. Today we are thrilled to bring you the final remix for the EP which is a cinematic reinterpretation of ‘Leaves’ by the soaring talent Quelza. Adding several plot twists to the initial 4/4 kick-styled track and boosting an energetic base layered with jungle, idm, and broken beat aesthetics, this pounding cut moves viscerally through the dancefloor.

Birmingham Techno paragon Monrella (Mick Harris) doesn't mess about, returning to Trauma Collective with 'Shank', a no-nonsense cut of heads down 909 techno. His analog production strikes a fine balance between solid groove and industrial rumble as the characteristically dry precussion crunches around a relentless synth stab. 

Alongside Regis and Surgeon, Harris was an architect of the dark Birmingham sound that blossomed out of club night House of God. He played a key role in the genesis of grindcore in the late 80s as the former drummer of Napalm Death and went on to translate his taste for raw, analog distortion into rugged 4x4 club tools with productions for Regis' ZET label in the mid 90s as Monrella. Several alias projects followed, the broken techno explorations of Fret, beatless dark ambient with Lull and the dub inflected trip-hop / illbient of Scorn. 

'Shank' is remixed on the flip by the Berlin-based Force Reaction, a collaborative project from Kwartz and Kaiser, two purveyors of a particularly muscular strain of techno igniting dances across Europe. They last released together on Kaiser's K S R imprint back in 2021 but this is Kwartz's second outing on Trauma Collective after a link up with Monrella on TRM003. Their version introduces reverb and echo to the mix while firmly retaining dancefloor utlity. 

Rounding up the B-side is a polyrhythmic and densley textured remix from Héctor Sandoval as Tensal. Sandoval is one half of pioneering Spanish techno duo Exium, and he also contributed to ZET back in 2001. Tensal doubles up on this release, dispatching a second remix in the form of a peak-time thumper available as a digital only bonus track.
