This smooth and lyric piano-tune features the possibillities of real handcrafted piano playing combining glitchy and cutting edge rhythmic phrases. Centered by the dynamic phrasing and articulation in the improvisation part, the heart is build by the modal and minimalistic melody. This organic aspect is really surprising.

Preserve Originalmix

Valuma are Roman Lugmayr and Georg Lichtenauer, two viennese based musicians/producers, who have been and still are very active in the austrian music scene. Valuma`s version of Pre_serve sounds slightly different though compared to the tracks they are usually producing. With this remix they left the field of electronic clubmusic and produced with a more relaxed and laid back attidude.

The energy between the acoustic piano and electronic 808 bassdrum is the puls that drives this remix straight to the dancefloor. A short piano phrase gets a whole punch of rhythm through prepared mallet pianochords. A deep house classic with jazzplaying and jazzfeeling.

His nickname, Keyminator, has the ominous ring of a science-fiction villain, but there is nothing apocalyptic about Stefan Oberthaler's cross-pollination of Nu-Jazz, lounge music, electronica, and funk. Stefan Oberthaler aka KEYMINATOR is a musician und producer located in vienna, austria, worked as a session- and sideman-musician for several artists and bands, including Helmut Schönleitner, Leila Thipgen, Hubert Tubbs (Tower od Power), Marina Trost, Bella Wagner and Pete Fletcher. He is the owner of the musiclabel "Killervirus-Audio", releasing his own music and productions, mainly in the style of Nu-Jazz and Jazz-House.
He works under the alias Keyminator for artists like Nicole Eitner, Gilberto Gil, Amalia ("All The Funk I Need" remix-contest), or the 5th Galaxy Orchestra.
