Another collab track with Yukino.
Basically, I did not expect the song breaking into 3 sections, and all of them being so coherent. Like, how did it work out.

A boss song in major key. How about a little bit of waltz in the beginning, and suddenly "open up" to a huge bright main road at daybreak?
That's the bright future of maimai I would expect.

As a sidenote, during the 10th anniversary comments, I have wrote exactly this:

Lines in the Dust is where the threat stops being distant and becomes real. Melodic and alternative metal colours give the harmony a heavier, more unstable feel from the first bars, as if the ground itself is shifting. The symphonic metal shade in the orchestration adds size and urgency, while folk rock traces keep it connected to ordinary streets and homes. Riffs and motives race back and forth, carrying bad news from one side of the soundstage to the other.

There is a sense of people talking in urgent voices, arguments and questions between the aggrieved woven into the lines. Every time the piece seems to gather itself, the ominous theme returns, reminding you that this is not a false alarm and not a passing scare. The uncertainty does not resolve here. It tightens.

About the album

Lines in the Dust is Movement III of Whirl: Ukraine in Sound, an instrumental cinematic and neo classical suite with symphonic metal intensity and Eastern European folk and Balkan colour. Across 15 movements the album follows a journey from peace to war, through loss and mourning, and toward a scarred return to calm, written from the perspective of those living through aggression rather than watching from afar.
