"5" is a 4 track EP, a deeply personal work that deals with the death of my mother to cancer 10 years ago. This project represents a therapeutic approach to my feelings, both good and bad, and an attempt to express it in music.

on "5", i wrote a song for each of four stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression). the 5th stage, acceptance, is still in the future.

I played the absolute crap out of this game, and of course I heard this banger of a track like a thousand times! For some reason when I heard it though, I was like "What if we made it like a slow funky disco thingy?" 
My lord does it work. The melody lends itself to funk, and it was so much fun to interpret it that way. The middle drop is my favorite, it just does everything I want it to. I hope you have as much fun listening to it as I did making it! This is my last song for the year, a good one to end on I think.

The Lore: 

The Hypno Fairy is a mysterious and anomalous figure said to only exist within the realm of dreams. Some believe encountering her brings good luck, while others warn of dire consequences if one crosses her path improperly, claiming she may snatch away one's soul, leaving behind an empty vessel. However, these are merely legends passed down through folklore, with no concrete evidence of her existence, leading many to doubt her reality and attribute such encounters to hallucinations or mental illness.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding her, the Hypno Fairy remains a perplexing entity, described as having a face resembling a spiral and adorned in peculiar attire crafted from unfamiliar materials, hinting at her fairy-like nature. What sets her apart is her ability to peer into both the past and future of individuals without limitation, much like Maggie the Watching Cat, deriving amusement from observing people confront their challenges and guiding them along the correct path.

Often encountered in a pristine white space, the Hypno Fairy is invariably accompanied by a mysterious ~D O 🚪 R~ in the distance, serving as a barrier that she fiercely protects. Its contents remain shrouded in mystery, with those who venture beyond never returning, or returning altered in some inexplicable manner.

I've recently become obsessed with Friday Night Funkin' so I decided to remix one of my favourite tracks from it. Honestly I can't pick a favourite, the entire OST SLAPS TOO HARD. This is my first go at making a VRC6 cover, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!

I used JummBox to make this. To be honest, it's not 'real' chiptune since I didn't make it in a tracker, but I did try to stick to VRC6 limitations as much as possible.
