This is the first of our new monthly label mix series, to showcase upcoming talent on Dispatch.

Two of the finest US exports, Quadrant & Iris are the first to step up to the controls. 

Picking up combined releases on labels such as Metalheadz, Hospital and Renegade Hardware, they recently released their first tracks on Dispatch.

Both their Dispatch LTD release with Kid Hops "Convergence / Borealis" received numerous praises throughout the scene and their huge collaboration with Hybris & D-Struct "Graphene" has seen already seen incredible support, as part of the Transit 2 album sampler.

Our new series of mixes "Global Friends" gets kicked off by the exciting project Bredren.

Bredren is a collaboration between the dubstep duo Requake and one member of the Belgian drum ‘n’ bass duo Orphans. The three met each other at a local DJ contest in Belgium in 2009. Back then, Adrien and Sebastien (Requake) had not yet started DJ’ing or making music but were both heavily into drum ‘n’ bass. Not long after meeting the Orphans guys, they decided it was time to have a go at DJ’ing. Requake was born. It wasn’t long until both of them started to get intrigued by dubstep. Sebastien picked up production and started making dubstep tunes at home. This is all history and right now, having released numerous tunes on labels such as Subway, Dubstar and Bassclash, Requake will be familiar to anyone who knows their dubstep.

In the meantime, the Requake guys had become good friends with Dieter (Orphans). They decided to forge a new collaboration between them under the guise “Bredren”, focusing mainly on the deeper and more experimental side of drum ‘n bass. The boys have only been together since around early summer 2011, although their discography causes to think otherwise. Having released tunes on imprints such as Basher’s notorious Proximity label and the Dutch Break-Fast Audio and being supported by Loxy, Skeptical, Data, Foreign Concept, Basher, Xtrah, DBR UK and many others, the boys are currently working on their next EP which is coming out on Proximity Recordings. Other running projects include collaborations with some highly respected names in the drum ‘n’ bass movement.

When live at work, they aim to bring you a deep but versatile journey through some of the darkest corners of bass music.
