K49, born and raised in the Eastern part of Berlin, growing up playing the guitar and bass, he began his journey as a Techno DJ and producer in 2018. Kicking-off his musical journey the 
 city’s competitive scene, K49 established as Co-founder and resident DJ the Berlin-based event series and record label „Legion“. Known for his raw, analogue-sounding sets, K49’s music resonates with a heavy, pounding energy that mirrors his Berlin roots — intense and full of weight. During his time living in Lisbon his sound evolved. Inspired by the sun, sea, and the laid-back yet profound atmosphere of the coastal city, K49 deepened his approach, incorporating deeper, more ritualistic elements into his sets and performances. From then on, he took on a hypnotic, almost transcendental quality, blending sun- soaked warmth into dark, atmospheric depths. K49’s love for surprises within his sets keeps listeners engaged, as he expertly weaves unexpected, catchy elements into his compositions while maintaining a coherent narrative throughout his performances.

With this straight vision on sound design and composition, he digs for sonic elements and loopy patterns to create a larger, more intricate picture - using sounds as colors. Driven by quality and attention to detail, K49 continually refines his sound, merging both old and new influences to create a unique auditory experience. Nowadays, his deep, fast grooves often intertwine with polyrhythms, and his intricate use of base, rides, and claps extends the foundational rhythms. In 2025, K49 has set his sights on pushing his musical journey as a music producer. Aiming to give something back to the scene he came from he is currently focusing more on his productions such as first single and EP
releases.

Founded in 2020, Legion began as a party “by friends, for friends” — with a strong DIY spirit and a desire to create something personal, outside of the city's more commercial club circuits. What started with 80 guests grew into full-scale raves with over 1000 people, without compromising on atmosphere or artistic integrity. K49, also known as Leon Kriegel, is a Berlin-based DJ and producer whose path into music began with instruments like guitar and bass before moving into electronic realms in 2018. His sound carries a balance of deep emotional tone and clear structural focus, drawing inspiration from his time living by the Atlantic coast in Portugal. Sunlight, ocean air, and introspection shaped his approach to rhythm and repetition — resulting in sets that are immersive, surprising, and emotionally resonant. Since the very beginning of Legion, he was involved in event management and A&R activities as part of the collective. In 2025, K49 has set his sights on pushing his musical journey as a music producer. Aiming to give something back to the scene he came from he is currently focusing more on his productions such as first single and EP releases.
