Label founder Louie says that working with Tulbure and Czevski feels especially meaningful, as their music had a strong influence on his early sound:

I've been working in electronic music for over 20 years, starting as Ua DNJ in Chicago's house scene. Now I focus on production, creating tracks that incorporate Afro, tribal, and organic

In my first year releasing music, I've put out 11 tracks across 11 different labels including My Other Side of The Moon, Kitisuru, Switch, and Sosha. I'm also proud to now be part of the My Other Side of The Moon team as Creative Director, where I help shape the label's artistic vision and guide its creative direction.
My work centers on rhythm and atmosphere. I draw from various musical traditions and adapt them for both club environments and more intimate settings. The aim is to create music that feels both grounded in tradition and relevant to contemporary listeners.
I'm interested in making electronic music that has depth and connects different cultural sounds while maintaining the energy that drew me to this music originally.

Back on his HIFI/LOFI home base, Franz Matthews continues his habit of turning up in
unexpected sonic spaces. Night Tales finds him delving into a more introspective, deep, and
melancholic palette, while preserving the organic warmth and groove-driven energy that define his
ever-evolving sound.

The EP’s opening tale, Again, takes us on a melancholic night ride through the ever-repeating ups
and downs of life, where darkness and light follow one another in an endless cycle - soundtracked
by an orchestra of lush synths, soft rhodes melodies, dreamy guitars, and Franz’s delicately
crafted vocals.

Howling at the Moon dives deeper into the night, driven by hypnotic percussion, dark synth
stabs, and haunting vocals that summon a sense of collective trance. The track builds toward a
wordless vocal chant that feels both human and otherworldly, unfolding into a swaying, almost
tango-esque groove where rhythms subtly intertwine.

Closing the EP, You & I stands apart — restored from a nine-year-old lost writing session, this
nostalgic yet hopeful electronic pop track felt right at home within the EP, where its warm house
textures and Lights Out’s delicate, heartfelt vocals wrap up these Night Tales with a timeless sense
of longing and connection.
