As with most tracks, it's never really a straightforward process that doesn't come out as smoothly as I would like, but I think that I am still getting a bit of a process down when it comes to creating more singles. I long for the days when it's not such a struggle, like it was back during the first times I was creating music on Soundcloud. But things change and time still moves forward. Over the past 6 years WOLF Music have earned their stripes as stalwart purveyors of refined House and Disco. Now, in the follow up to Medlar and Greymatter’s debut LPs and EPs from the likes of Ishmael, Ossie and Casino Times they ready their 3rd LP from Dutchman Frits Wentink.

Now residing in Amsterdam, Frits has a glowing back catalogue of soulful, Lo Fi club material that’s touched Heist Recordings as well as WOLF in the form of his ‘Mouse’ and ‘Goose’ EPs. With an experimental approach to hardware and instrumentation, his work blooms naturally through jams and improv and in this - his debut LP: ‘Rarely Pure, Never Simple’ we see a development in this experimentation to enlivening effect.

Working with a meld of grubby samples, chunky percussion and the frequent vocal accompaniment of Utrecht based Loes Jongerling, Rarely Pure Never Simple is a journey through Frits’ influences forged into a cohesive pack of grooves and interludes tinged with a certain charming nostalgia.

khaderbai is a rather private beatmaker from Zurich, Switzerland, whose beats blend craftily soul, jazz and funk samples with hard drums and at times obscure sounds, all in the nostalgic spirit of boom bap music.

on top of that, khaderbai is a member of the Zurich based dj-duo SMK where he partners up with SLM, in order to play not only their beloved hiphop tunes, but to share in a chaotically eclectic manner all kinds of thrilling music with fellow music enthusiasts. Along these lines, SMK host and co-organize the LE FLAH party series where live beat making happens on every first Saturday at the Piccolo Giardino in Zurich.
