Vic Spencer starts September off with his Red Button Series, a weekly release of records during the recording of his 6th solo album, The Rapping Bastard. Vic Spencer was at The Grindhouse with Doc da Mindbenda writing to a new beat for The Rapping Bastard when 197/Village member Monster Mike was recording a record of his own. Vic took a liking to the record he was recording and invited Mike back to the studio the following week to feature on the 1st release to the series which is The Newport 100. The name comes from the historical vehicle sport, The Daytona 500. But since these two MC enjoy smoking Newports, they replaced Daytona with a sport of their own. Packed with 24 bars from each MC on a horn-driven loop provided by Marc Moulin off the Placebo Sessions from 1971-74, the two mesh well crafting lines like 'I'm very gifted, not a Christian so my daddy is Christmas' and 'Never naked, gotta lot of Nudies'. And if that wasn't enough, Vic loops a bass-driven record from Jet Age of Tomorrow entitled Delta off their bonus mixtape, The Jellyfish Mentality to add to the record. "I want to give listeners MORE", Vic said about switching the beat on the record. "In this game, you have to stay creative".

The Truth Ft. Vic Spencer

It is my greatest hope, that after the conclusion of the Red Button Series, people...especially rappers, finally recognize and give Vic Spencer his credit. This track, G File Clerk, the first release of the October installment of the series continues to solidify Vic as Chicago's top emcee. Jumping out the gate with lines like"I showed my whole ass now say it backwards, asshole shitted out a disaster" and "I burst out with laughter when they think they do it better, read this verse like the shit was a polyphonic letter", all within the first 45 seconds of the record. How many rappers can properly use polyphonic in a rhyme..really? Only a real emcee, a lover of words and writing like Vic Spencer. It's not enough for him to effortlessly kill the non-factors that are considered 'competition', no sir, Vic has to body rappers again and again with sophisticated bahz as he says. G File Clerk is a loop from a Frank Leone record called The Cove and DB3's track Imagination. Starting out on a more mellow note, beat wise of course, Vic goes in, whether the beat is smooth or as rough and gritty as his rhymes. G File Clerk is bar after bar of Vic really just pulling it and asking who wants to get their file pulled next??

It is evident that Vic will not stop, still feeding his Old Fart and Rapping Bastard buzz cleverly dropping gems like "I dont fuck with Twitter beef, we can meet up, and I ain't too old to smack the shit out of you and kick my feet up", typical old man statement that just makes you laugh because it's probably true. And no one will ever test Vic Spencer lyrically, literally, or cyber-'ly' to find out if it is or isn't the truth. Be glad Vic has decided to continue the Red Button Series through October, gives rappers a chance to get their wordplay in order and listeners an opportunity to get caught up with the master himself. He's still not finished, every Monday more schooling from a real leader will be handed down, clearly until he's ready to move on to the next piece of his plan for hip hop domination.

G File Clerk

No one is exempt from getting heated by Vic Spencer's bahz, not even the ladies. The latest Red Button Series joint to drop is "The Stroke Master". Perfect use of the Too Short track, "Bad Ways", what better artists track to use as the base of a song thats starts with a line like "Don't act like you don't wanna fuck me baby." Vic has outdone himself again with "The Stroke Master", a rhyme that's easy to understand for those who say his bars are too complex. It's the comedic spin Vic uses on this track that shows even on joints with simplest concepts he will still spit ryhmes you'll remember. Showcasing his fun side in the booth Vic gives listeners an entertaining look at his versatility and other rappers a nudge basically saying I can do what you do, only better.

Wait, you said Vic Spencer is putting out MORE music?!  That's right, Vic just dropped his full album "HaerBrainSchemes presents The Rapping Bastard" less than a month ago and he's already prepping for his next project. "Talk" is a celebration of The Rapping Bastard release. Doc da Mindbenda's production set things off for the Old Fart to speak.

"Talk" is exactly what Vic does on this joint, letting listeners know "I tried to talk to my wife, but the shit didn't work so I talk to this mic." He willingly lays on his figurative couch - the studio and gets into some release therapy. Between the honesty Vic always drops in his bahz and the flawless production of Doc da Mindbenda. "Talk" is Vic saying "thank you" to his fans for the over 6k downloads of the new album and his focus is to continue to put so called rappers to bed ; officially bet on that. Meanwhile, enjoy the story. "Talk".

Vic Spencer received a call from Martin $ky on 10/23/12 saying that he made a new beat for their collaborative project, Modern Vintage. The 2 ended up at The Grind House with engineer Doc da Mindbenda that Saturday 10/27/12 recording what comes out to be 64th Floor. They spit 32 bars a piece equalling up to 64. Martin's chill flow and Spencer's flow pattern mesh well together as they continue to build on their musical/lyrical chemistry. The 2 release the track that following Monday 10/29/12 via blogs and every blog is saying that the track features Vic Spencer. It's Martin $ky & Vic Spencer! So get it correct, people! Some of you never even been on 64th floor of NO BUILDING.
