The message of Christianity is in the Cross, how Christ died on the Cross to guarantee our salvation and our place in the presence of God. Because of Jesus’ death, we are justified before God. Justification is the act of God declaring us righteous as we have put our faith in what Christ has done. When we believe in the works of Christ, we are justified before God.

When you love God, and you are preaching the gospel, you must be faithful to the content of the gospel. The Bible tells us that the gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing, meaning that inevitably there will be people who disagree with the gospel. In spite of this, we must continue to preach the message and truth of the gospel.

In chapter 2 of the book of Revelation, letters were written to 7 churches, including the Church of Smyrna. Known as the beauty and crown of Asia, they were those that suffered most, facing persecution for declaring Christ. As Christians, we must also be prepared to suffer for Christ.

God called you and saved you according to His own purpose and grace, meaning that there is an agenda for your salvation. There is a reason behind why God saved you. This will never come to pass outside of salvation or outside of His Word. All the miracles and promises of God for your life can only be materialised in through the hearing of the Word. It takes the gospel to bring to light these realities. The gospel gives life.
